Alpine CDA-7894 CD Player Questions & Answers
Dual dvd car stereo no sound
Check the fuses. There's one in your car's fuse panel (usually in the footwell be the hinges of the car door) & one on the back of the head unit. While you have the head unit out checking the fuse, ensure that the power wire is still connected securely and the ground wire has a firm, clean connection to the sub dash (clean metal, no paint). If this doesn't solve the problem, the unit may well have gone belly up. You will need a new one if that's the case. If you purchase a new one, stay away from Dual. It's garbage. I know they're super affordable, but you get what you pay for with that kind of stuff. Pioneer makes really good units and there priced reasonably too. Just a suggestion... Good luck!
I have the alpine cda-7894
You have a problem with the phasing of your speakers. This will happen if on or more of the speakers are installed incorrectly. To solve this, you must check the speakers and find which one of them does not have the positive and negative connected to where it should be. When connecting speakers it is crucial that the speakers (positive and negative terminals) are all connected to the corresponding (positive and negative) speaker outputs of your head unit.
Now you can enjoy your sound again.

Getting disc read error
THere are a number of problems that can cause a disc read error. The lens can be damaged or very dirty. The motor that moves the les could be stuck or damaged. The disc could be dirty or scratched. Or the disc format might not be able to be read by the player. Do you try more than one disc? Are you trying different types of discs? like store boght discs and recordable discs. Some players wont read mp3 or cd-rw discs.
My alpine cd player said error and now it wont put out sound
if you spliced the wires then two of them may have touched somehow this will cause a short out to the speakers and to the deck take it out and check the ground constant and all of the speaker wires to make sure that they are all seperated and connected correctly.;

Wiring
In some installations it is not used.
Reply with your vehicle model/make/year and I can tell you the wire in the vehicle.
You can simply terminate the wire and it will be on full bright all the time.
It works in conjunction to dim with your dash lights at night. That is its sole purpose.
