Firmware corrupted? Only prints some random computer text

7. Test with different labels or ribbons: If the problem persists, try using different labels or ribbons. Sometimes, the issue could be related to the specific media being used.

To send text to printer in dos command you should first install a driver from
www.seagullscientific.com
then in the properties you can use send file to printer.
To send the files from command :
Check if the program ssdal.exe has been correctly installed.
to have help use ssdel help send at dos prompt
to send the file
ssdal send filename printername should do the trick

try diferent driver and print test page

reset the printer to factory defult ( from the driver( download segull driver) www.seagullscientific.com
check if the driver that you using have the correct Length and the With from the labels that you use.
Print a test page (should come with windows logo plus the text in all label. clean the printhead.

try microsoft word 07 and print

Check your printer folder to see if there is more than one printer installed on your computer and that the Zebra has a check mark next to it making it the default printer.If everything seems o.k. I would then suggest uninstalling the printer software and reinstalling it. Sometimes a file gets corrupted or with windows (I am assuming your using windows) you never know.

-Install ZDownloader from Zebra's web.- http://www.ups.zebra.com/ctp/upgrade.aspx visit this page and do nothing to use in step 3 part to download for your stable firmware, only find and download it
-Turn off printer and get ready on Zdownloader sofware-You could see easly "Auto Detect Printers" on ZDownloader, press and hold the label feed button and keep your finger in there then click the "Auto Detect Printers", if you are seeing your printer in list now, continue to keep your finger in feed button-Select the firware.prg file, right click with select your printer in list and click "Download to Selected." -you are still keeping your finger in feed button in this time. You will see the feeding will start and your problem fixed.
Sorry for my english, haven't got enough practice.

The printer only understands EPL code. (Eltron Programming Language) If you are trying to print text from DOS it wont understand (interpret) the txt codes.

To verify that the printer is working.

Open a DOS box, start the dos editor. Type Edit. Dos editor will open.


Type a single capital letter U. and print. Send to printer. The printer will print a configuration label.

EPL code to reset printer is

^default.


If you want to print a text file. use the Zebra Universal Driver. Zebra TLP2844. Open any windows application. E,G, Notepad. type text and send it to printer. Print as normal.
