Hi. I would advise both of you to try a flag clear first to see if you have any program left.

Turn key to program. Power off at wall.
Hold RECEIPT FEED, and turn power on at wall.
Wait 10 seconds, then let go of RECEIPT FEED.
When you see 'FFFFFFFFF' press SUBTOTAL.
Turn key back to REG and try it.

If you still need help, let me know.

An E04 error is an indication that you've lost the program in the register, usually due to a dead back-up battery. Occasionaly you can do a Flag clear and save the progam.
To Flag clear the CE-3700:
Unplug the register
Turn the key to the X1 position
Press and hold the Receipt Feed button
Plug in the register
Release the Receipt Feed button
You should see FFFFFFFFFF in the display
Press Subtotal
Turn key to REG, sign on a clerk and try it.

If you don't get FFFFFFFFFF or this does not work the only other solution is to MAC the register and reprogram it.
To Mac the CE-3700:
Unplug the register
Turn the key to the PGM position
Press and hold the Journal Feed button
Plug in the register
Release the Journal Feed button
You should see 0000000000 in the display
Enter 12001
Press Subtotal
This completely clears the memory of the register and sets it back to factory defaults all programming and totals will be lost.

SOURCE: I have a Casio CE-3700 cash register. How do I

I found the service manual here:

ftp://ftp.totalpos.co.nz/Oldmanuals/Casio-CE3700.pdf

It is New Zealand, and the file is a little over 3 MB. If you have a problem, contact me and I can email it to you.

It has a section on programming the CE-3700.

Casio ce-3700 showing some percentages on it's reading.how take that out?

Which percentages? Which reading? You will need to be more specific. If it is part of the daily report, the user manual should be able to show you what they mean. If you need more information, the Casio CE-3700 manuals are here:

Have a ce-3700 raized keyboard the till resets and can set date and time but the departments won't work one needs to open the department so that ne can work the till how

If you have performed a RAM (MAC) clear, then the departments should work as soon as the MAC code has been set. Make sure you aren't using a decimal point for prices. -----------------------------------------------------------

I have a casio CE3700 cash register. The machine locked up. I followed the normal procedures to resolve this, however when I turned the power back on from the socket the machine fails to turn on at all...

It sounds like there is a good reason for it locking up the first time then. Most commonly it is caused by a printer problem. Most Casio models will run the printer before they turn the display on, so if you can't hear the printer run at turn on, I'd start there. Look for paper jams. make sure the motor can turn freely. If the motor is okay, check the battery. You can experience weird problems if the battery has not been replaced on time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Casio CE 3700

Hi.
It sounds like this machine has a faulty battery. If the problem happened after a power cut, or the machine was stored, then this problem can occur. You will need to fully reset the RAM and start again. I wouldn't advise this until you have changed the battery. If you want to do it yourself, contact a Casio dealer and order a battery for it. Then open the register and plug the new battery in and get back to me. I can help you to clear it and recover the decimal places.
