My Maytag Neptune dryer model mdg5500aww has no heat when running . ignitor never gets red. there's gas to the unit and 110 volts. there really not much lint in there. is the problem the flame sensor?

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

Maytag Neptune gas dryer. Lint-free. 4-1/2 years old. Good air flow. Burner only stays on for 5 seconds. Takes forever to dry a normal load and not getting hot. Temp is on normal. Time dry or automatic. Do...

Hi, sounds like a plugged vent. Pull the dryer out from the wall and disconnect the vent.Clean out any lint and make sure you have good airflow to the outside.

I have a Maytag Neptune gas dryer and recently light colored clothes are coming out with small black marks on them; it looks like grease/oil stains. Where could this be coming from?

my first guess would be something ,someone placed in dryer perhaps coveralls or oily clothing. There is no place that I am aware of on a dryer where you could pick up oil leaks from ..are you sure you did not have a lint fire, the oil stains may be soot

Dryer gets hot and shuts down for about 25 minutes b4 starting

The 'high limit' is tripping> Clean the lint filter and tube all the way in, it's full of lint and the hot air is restricted.

Maytag 5806 Gas Dryer starts and suddenly stops.

You may have a problem with a thermal overload sensor. Since it runs and then shuts off, this sounds like the problem.

MayTag Neptune MDG9700AW Gas Dryer

Check the lint tubing and also for lint underneath the dryer. There is a blockage somewhere for this to happen. This is a built in safety feature for gas dryers that others don't have.
