Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

Dryer runs with no heat and never shuts off on its own

what are you running it on?auto or more or less,if so the timer will not advance to off without heat, usually the heat comes on,the dryer heats up until it reaches temp.the heater shuts off and then the timer will start to advance to off, when the heat comes back on the timer will stop advancing and the heat will come on,it will do this until the clothes are dry,so no heat the timer will not move, now if you put it on time dry the timer should count down no matter what just like a clock.if you open the door and look around the opening where you put the clothes in you'll see a tag with the model number send this and i can help you.

I have a Whirlpool LER4634PQ1 it was working just fine then all of a sudden the dryer just keeps running the knob on the dryer doesn't move and the air isn't warm. Any suggestions on what to s

there is a cycling thermostat in line with the high limit thermostat and timer circuit,on timed dry its disabled and the timer will run no matter what,on any sensor dry setting it uses the heat of the element to heat this cycling thermostat to move the timer as the clothes get drier as the heating element heats the timer doesn't move, when the heater cycles off from the high limit thermostat then timer moves again, you need to find out if its a bad heating element, thermal fuse or possibly even a circuit breaker in the homes electrical panel tripped out on one of the 2 phases that gives you the 240 volts required to operate the dryer element, the breaker may not show its tripped,so shut it off and back on and try this first

The dryer is not heating up and the dial stops at the cool down so the dryer will not shut off by it self. Its a kenmore 70 series dryer.

you need to send the model number, open the door and look around the opening where you put the clothes into the dryer and you'll see the tag with the model number.it will start with 110. or 417.because you have no heat that's why the timer won't advance, when the heat shuts down then the timer advances when the heat comes back on the timer stops moving or advancing,no heat the timer won't move.send the model number

Dryer will not turn off is it the timer? the dial does not move

do you have heat?when the dryer heats up the timer doesn't move, when the heat shuts off the timer moves, when the heat comes back on the timer stops, the timer will not move if there's no heat.if you have heat it could be the timer.also run the dryer when it's cold for 15 to 30 minutes and check to see if the flame is still liting, there's a little cover on the front panel that you can pop off to see the flame, there's a set of gas coils on top of the gas valve that when they fail they will stop working when they heat up,when the coils cool down they will let the gas through and the flame will lite again, common problem with gas dryers and most likely your problem.also when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer, you need to blow out the vent line if it's a long run from the back of dryer to the outside i use a leaf blower to blow out the line, make sure the outside vent is clear so the air can blow through, next you need to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into and vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is,you should do this once a year moreso with gas so you don't have a fire, also your clothes will dry on time and you'll have less problems with the dryer.let me know what you find.

My drum on my dryer rolls but there is no heat and my timer is not working...what could it be??

the timer will not move if there's no heat.when the dryer starts to heat and then shuts off then the timer will move when the heat starts again the timer stops.you need to send the model number is it gas or electric?you might need to clean out the dryer and popped the thermal fuse from the dryer running to hot or you have a bad heating element or ignitor, you need to get in there and start checking parts to see why you have no heat.

Our Whirlpool Dryer Will not heat at all and not

Your timer may be the cause of both problems. Not cycling and no heat.
Whirlpool makes a excellent dryer and is worth repairing. Replace the timer first. If you still have a heat problem most of the other parts are around $30.
