Go to http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals/search. Enter 2517 and you can download the manual for your machine for free. The instructions for threading your bobbin should be shown in there.
Try checking the manual. If you don't have one, go to http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html where you can download one for free. It should tell you what bobbin you need in there. I know both of my Singers tell me the type of bobbin I need for each of them in their manuals.
