Font size and Zoom control are controllable on several laptops models and browsers with the combination key-and-mouse combination of CTRL and the mouse Scroll Wheel. If your scroll wheel functionality on your Toshiba laptop is also governed by your touchpad and IF that touchpad is malfunctioning, then whenever you activate the Zoom feature keys (CTRL, "+", or "-" keys), then it is possible to zoom the text on certain browsers or increase the font size in certain MS Office products, like Word.

Replacing the palmrest-and-touchpad assembly might be one possible solution but you might also be able to verify/test for a failing touchpad by deactivating it's scolling feature in whatever Toshiba Mouse Utility software that they installed on the machine or look for it in the touchpad and/or mouse settings in the control panel. If it can be deactivated, and your problem goes away, then you know the touchpad (or its driver) is faulty.

Also, test it in Safe Mode. If the problem does NOT exist in Safe Mode, then your hardware is most likely OK and it's a sofware issue (such as driver, software, or utility).

Hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard and roll the mouse wheel (or use the little scroll areas of a touchpad) to zoom in & out.

if you are using word open up word select view from the drop down list select toolbars select standard ,formatting
also open up word across to the left you will see arial,times new roman,arial black next will be more to name a few of the different languages from the drop down list your documents will be read in
also next to that will be a drop down list with all sizes you can change the sizes of text

On Windows7, one can disable this poor excuse for a feature by going to Control Panel->Hardware and sound->Devices and printers->Mouse->Device Settings->Settings [button half-way down, on the right]->pinch zoom. Then uncheck "enable pinch zoom".

If you are holding control and you use the scroll area on the touchpad (normally the right side), it will adjust the font size. you can do this again to adjust or you can adjust the zoom for the site. If you are using internet explorer, the zoom is located on the bottom right corner of the browser

I"m assuming you're using Internet Explorer. On the menu bar go to "View" then go to "Text Size" and choose the size of text you want on your web pages.

The the text size in browsers are change if you have a scrolling mouse or if side of your touchpad 'active scroll'. You do it by holding down the "Ctrl" key and scrolling up or down. Make sure you are not accidentally doing that and its the reason for font/pic change. Are you using Outlook? Also try this: In Outlook. click Options on the Tools menu, and then click the Mail Format tab.
Under Stationery and Fonts, click Fonts, and then click International Fonts. Then, select the font size that you want to use in Internet Explorer or Firefox, click Set as Default, and then click OK until you can quit the program. If you are still having issues post here again and we'll go from there.

Typically, to adjust the font size within a browser, you would press command and the "+" plus key to increase the font size within the browser. You can also access it through the top menu bar by going to "View" then down to "Text Size" and doing that until you're satisfied.
