If your Canon printing calculator is not advancing paper, there are a few potential causes for this problem:
The calculator may be out of ink or ribbon. Check the ink or ribbon and replace it if necessary.
The calculator's print head may be dirty or clogged. Clean the print head to remove any debris that may be blocking the paper from advancing.
The calculator's paper feed mechanism may be damaged or stuck. Check the paper feed mechanism and make sure it is functioning properly and not stuck.
The calculator's gears or other internal components may be worn or damaged. If the problem persists, you may need to have the calculator serviced by a qualified technician.
If you are unsure how to check for and address these potential causes, you may want to consult the user manual for your Canon printing calculator or contact the manufacturer for assistance.
Mount the paper roll on the wire bracket... feeding
over the top of the ROLL (TOWARD THE MACHINE).
With the keyboard FACING away from yourself
Fold the FRONT EDGE of the PAPER on to the
side to form a chisel point... and insert the point
(folded side up) in the rear roller slot (paper feed)...
My first thought is that the numbers being "hammered" against the paper are not reaching far enough. Test this theory by putting two layers of paper into the paper feed, (Fold the end of the roll over onto itself) and try printing again. It could be designed for a thicker paper.
Alternatively the new ribbon may also have dried out. Rub the ink ribbon with a paper, or pencil eraser and see if the ink readily comes off, perhaps use a pencil eraser to press it against the paper being fed through the machine.
These are diagnostics to find the error. Further investigation might be to see if there is any particles in the machine preventing it from hammering the numbers against the paper. Something might be in the way of the moving parts, something about the size of a paper hole punch paper, or pencil shaving. Shaking it vigorously upside down might solve this problem.
Never insert paper roll if torn. Doing so will cause paper to jam. Always cut leading edge with scissors first. 1) Insert the leading edge of the paper roll into the opening. (Fig. 1) 2) Turn the power on and feed the paper by pressing . (Fig. 2) 3) Insert the paper roll to the paper holder. (Fig. 3) DO NOT PULL PAPER BACKWARDS AS THIS MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO PRINTING MECHANISM.
The Casio DR-T220 does not use regular adding machine tape, it requires a thermal tape since it is a thermal printer. There is no ink or ink ribbon in this caculator, it is heat activated and it is the special paper that make the numbers appear. Thermal tape is available at all office supply stores.
Cut paper at a 45 degree angle and load into back slot with angle (apex) of paper to the right of machine when facing it. Be sure to push it thru when loading. You should see tip next to calculator number wheel. Hit the additon sign several times to advance. You may need tweezers to pull paper thru if it doesn't advance by itself.
