Drop the drivebelt by swinging the tension-idler with a crescent wrench and popping the belt off the alternator pulley.
Dis-connect the battery.
Roll the electrical connection boot back to get access to the connectors and remove.
Back out the top mounting bolt (it may be stubborn, don't be afraid to put weight on it) and swing unit out to get easier access to the lower mount.
Drop the new unit in place and start the lower and upper mount bolts...re-connect the electricals...tighten the mounting bolts.
Swing the tension-idler to re-mount the belt.
re-connect the battery.

If it's located at the front upper left side of the motor you need to first remove the belt tensioner bolt. Then you can gain access to the lower mounting bolt to the engine block. Remove it then remove the upper engine brace so you can reove the belt. unplug the harness connector and pull out the alternator. Reverse procedure when installing the new part.
