The F3 error code means that the oven temperature sensor is shorted and not telling the oven control what the temp. is in the oven. Check out this tip i wrote about what to check when the F3(and F4) is displayed http://www1.fixya.com/support/r10343697-error_codes_f3_f4_mean_oven
The F3 code means that the temperature sensor in the oven is not giving the signal to the oven control. This could be the result of a problem with the wiring or the wire harness between the control board and the sensor or indicate that the sensor itself has failed.
on our maytag a f3 code means shorted or open temperature sensor. do not know if that code is the same as a ge, but you can google your oven model codes and find out what the problem is.
These are the F2/F3 error codes for a Tappan oven
F2
Oven
too hot
Check Bake function, if OK, replace oven temperature sensor
F3
Oven
temperature sensor open
Check
oven temperature sensor, should
be ~1100 ohms at room temperature. If too high or low, replace
oven temperature sensor please take the time to give this solution a fix ya rating.
i think f3 error code has something to do with the temp probe maybe it is the problem. the temp probe is located if you open the door directly in the back wall. it looks like a prong. should read 1100ohms the f2 error code though usually has something to do with the keypad i would check all the connections maybe they are loose.
