Won't stop running in auto mode

Identity guard 10S cross cut shredded. Just out of warranty (naturally!) and will not stop running. Have to remove off the bin to stop it. It was not overheated and only ran about 3 minutes with less than 10S at a time.

This is an issue with the paper feed sensor if it is mechanical switch there may be paper holding switch in active position if it is a elecronic sensor (looks like the bulb on the end of a remote located in the center on both sides of the paper slot) it may simply need to be cleaned with a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol. If cleaning or unsticking switch does not work you will have to contact the manufacturer for any parts replacement.

Open the case and clean out the sensor eye on the input slot. You have a piece of paper coverring the electric sensor.

    Suggest:

    1) Don't run any sticky paper through the machine. The small pieces of paper tend to stick to the hole for the visual sensor that turns on the auto sheet feeder. Once it is covered it will run continously.

    2) Because the hole that the sensor is in is deep and in the slot chanel, you will have to remove the back of the housing to access the port to clean it.

    3) Never run plastic through the shredder. it will quickly wear out the heavy duty shredder.

HSM Securio B24 paper shredder

The HSM Securio B24 is a high-security paper shredder that is designed to shred sensitive documents into extremely small particles to protect against identity theft and other types of data breaches. It is capable of shredding up to 24 sheets of paper at a time and can also shred staples, paper clips, and credit cards.
To use the HSM Securio B24, you simply need to place your documents in the feed opening and push them through using the built-in handle or the manual feed. The shredder will then automatically shred the documents into small particles that are difficult to reconstruct.
The HSM Securio B24 also features an automatic start/stop function, which means that it will start shredding as soon as you insert your documents and stop when you are finished. It also has a reverse function that allows you to easily remove any shreds that may be stuck in the shredder.

Shredder won't turn on when plugged up

Shredders have a safety switch that won't allow it to run if it is off of the bin. Sometimes if the shredded is on the bin backwards it won't run because the plastic piece on the bin that presses the switch is only on one side of the bin. Sometimes if the switch goes bad, the shredder won't run.

How do you remove the top to see the gears in a Royal 16CDX cross cut paper shredder. The overload message is displayed, and I don't know how to get it unjammed.

a possible solution is to UNPLUG the unit, reach in from underneath and start pulling stuck paper out. On mine (different model) I can remover the paper receptacle bin and reach up to remove stuck paper. this usually is caused by overloaded bin pushing shredded paper back up to cutters because it is overfull......BE SURE TO UNPLUG FIRST !!!!!

I have a privay Guard model PS-029/MB and I have a brocken plastic gear, can I find this part online?

I have the same problem. The gear that the motor drive shaft touches has been shredded to pieces. when contacting the second gear. The secondary gear is plastic and absolutely WILL shred itself to pieces over a short lifespan (<5yrs) because metal vs plastic is a losing combination.

When on

Make sure there is no paper blocking the sensors. Otherwise you may have a bad sensor or switch.
