If you are getting no video at all, then we can use the diagnostic LEDs and the power LED to help determine the failure.

Solid Orange/Amber generally is a Motherboard failure. Remove all expansion cards and all external connections, see if anything changes. If not, replace motherboard. If you get a change, then add items back one at a time till you ID the Fault

Do you have a lot of accessories plugged in? They may have overloaded the power supply and if this is the case you will need to buy new power supplies. If this is not the problem, check to make sure that the computers have plenty of ventilation in the back. If they don't, they may have overheated and melted quite a few different components.

Have the same problem. Tried swapping the power supply with a known good one. Didn't help. So the orange light definitely doesn't just indicate a bad PSU. I'm gonna say this MB is a gone-r...

If you are getting an amber light flashing, your power supply is faulty.
If it is a solid amber light, you motherboard is faulty or one of the componants are faulty.
I would suggest giving Dell a call. They would beable to pin point the problem and give you a quote. Some of their componants are non standard and can only be purchased from them.
You could try reseating all your componants on the last resort but it is unlikly to help.
SOURCE: Dell Optiplex GX270 will not start and power button is orange
I think that it is most likely that this is a power supply going bad. These can be purchased cheaply on eBay (make sure the picture matches). This replacement is moderately technical.
The other good possibility is a bad capacitor(s) on the motherboard. This is very common for the GX270s due to a manufacturer defect. Most of them failed in years 2-4, though. This would require a replacement motherboard (very technical). Pictures of bad capacitors: http://brianmorristech.com/?p=105
It could also be related to the power connector from the power supply to the motherboard (unlikely).
Another good option would be to buy a used GX270 from eBay and put your hard drive into it.
