I have the Acer 1363WLMi. Standby mode does not work, frezzes with black screen once activated. I dont use it so that is not a major issue.
The thing that bugs me the most it is graphic adapter issue.
It will work fine for not really specific period of time. Crashes powered on battery, while charging and on AC power as well.
The problem looks like this - will start with small vertical lines running randomly through the screen and will just get worse - the screen will go black for a second, fan will start (!) and it will eventually crash with frozen distorted screen and one long and two short beeps. That seems to say that the display adapter is malfunctioning but reset it and it will go back to normal. It kinda starts with a ‘click’ in the hard drive.
how to fix the darn thing? s.o.s.!
Hey, I had a 1522wlmi, witch is the brother model of your laptop, the models have issues, parts fail within 12months. Your only option to get the problem fixed is to send your vga card to www.acerparts.com by ordering a replacement model. Only option is repairflow as far as i know at the time.
I had my vgaboard at acerparts for 6months, I got it back but had issues with games, i send it back waited a few months and got my money back.
Then I send my laptop to my local acer. It was analysed since it had taken more than 3 months to replace my card. I they suggested to repair the laptop for 300eur thats around 400-500 usd. Im pretty sure it wont last more than 12months so in the long run your better off buying a new laptop, dont buy acer.
Good luck.
