My picture is now always a pink to red shade on my
Before today the last couple of days the picture would flucuate between normal and then flip to a red tint. Now it is always a light shade of red, the picture that is. I have a Hitachi rear projection tv

Unplug your TV look on the back for a three controls marked red / blue / green "screen" turn / tap on them; watch the screen when you find the "dirty" control clean it with "TV tuner cleaner spray"

I had a similar problem with blacks showing up as green. Turning up the brightness a bit fixed it for me. Not a permanent fix, but something to try if you want to make it last a bit longer until you can get a new one or fix it.
magenta is just a fancy name for pink.... its usually a darker shade of pink not overly dark but not a bright pink that most associate with the color.
most hp printers use the ckmy color format as opposed to the rgb that most are used to. check your other ink levels to ensure that they are at least half full and when you print out a doc or pic requiring red, the other inks will assist in creating the proper shade
This is not a "rear projection" plasma TV for whiuch you offered solutions, It is the LCD Flat panel the Liquid Crystal Display a 40" Samsung. I do not think this problem is a dead pixel as that woulde be "black" Reading on the web I found only one post that appeared to be the same or similar and the person said somehing about "switching the red wire" Maybe it is a "stuck" pixel -- sticks on red once in a while. Like previously after the first time it occured it has not come back in three days now. Samsungs repair comes today i will cross my fingers.
It sounds like the light sensor on the camera is malfunctioning. Try cleaning the sensor. If the senor doesn't work at all it will not be able to tell when the camera is operationg in bright light. Kind of like having your eyes dialated and walking outside on a sunny day.
I have posted my problem and potential solution to convert the 32" TV to a monitor. I would have preferred to keep it as a TV and not have to buy a new TV, but I do not believe that the problem can be addressed inexpensively since there are no controls built into the TV for fine tuning the color. Even Vizio advises that it would have to go out for repair if it is even repairable. It has been my experience that trying to repair this type of item is normally as expensive as buying a new one.
If one of your experts has an easy inexpensive fix that will work, I will gladly pay for this advise. I do not want to charge my card for someone to tell me it is not repairable or I need to take it in for repair.
I had that problem several times with my Z50, I would cut it off, wait and it would fix itself. Now today, it went POP! Complete loss of video, I have audio. I am off the warranty period. I feel very alone now.
Sounds like you have a cap that leaky or a ic thats getting hot, if you want to try and fix it yourself get a can of freeze it http://www.chemtronics.com/products/product.asp?id=78
and when the problem appears spray the can on each (ic or cap) part till the problem goes away.
I believe your set has a loose conection that needs to be resoldered ,every time you hit it reacts and that is good, you need to use a wooden or rubber handle to tap in the main board, around the tuner and in different areas until it reacts,be attentive when it does so you can flip the board and resoldered the area that made it react, once the problem is corrected you need to resoldered any other overheated areas and there should be a few in your set, check the grounds in the tuner(where the coax goes in the inside,is a silver box),the horizontal driver transformer and output transformer.Be careful while you do this and stay away from the thick red wire going to the back of the picture tube specially when the set is on.
Let Us know how it goes or if you need more information.
