Re: Hi, i resently bought a toshiba regza 42" lcd tv 2...
Toshiba knows about the problem. It's a Soft Wear problem with the HDMI ports. Call Toshiba and let them know and give them your tv's ID number. All Toshibas Regza have sound problems.

If you are using a hdmi cable take it off and switch to component cables if the problem goes away keep it that way. Sometimes the hdmi hookups have bugs like this.
The only logical solution for the problems people are having for the toshiba regza's tv's is to get into a class action law suite..., they contiue to sell tv's with defective parts and refuse to help the customer that spent large cash to find out they last if your lucky 2.5 years, they are junk and anyone with one will soon find out./.......
There is no easy (read: cheap) solution for this. Especially because your TV is so big, the only thing that will look good on it is something that plays at the very least 720p HD output.
I don't know what your DVD player model is, but you want an upconverting DVD player, and even then, the quality will not be full HD. The only thing that is full 1080p HD on the market today is Blu-Ray, and game consoles like XBox 360 and PS3.
As for the sports, it depends on the TV you bought. If the deal was too good to be true for a 52" TV, you probably got one with a low Hz, or a high refresh rate. This means that the images played don't update quick enough for high motion video like action movies and sports, which is why it's blurry. Mine has a 3ms response time, by comparison.
hello the red blinking lights is a service code when this happens it means theres a power problem or a fualty circut. it happens alot with these new plasma and lcd tv's its very common since these units have built in protection and power loss a fualt or short will cuase this.
the tv needs service the tech will know what to look for according to the number of blinks.
Called ghost lines or banding. I researched on toshiba thread LCD screen bad. I have same problem purchased HL196 4/07 problem appeared 1 year and 9 months ago no extended warranty. If still under warranty call toshiba. LCD screen more expensive then orginal price of TV. Should file class action lawsuit for selling defective screens. Lot of people having same problem. goforth2953
