The filter is hidden below the lower front panel (3 screws hold this in place) Turn the pump cleanout knob counterclockwise about 2 turns and be ready to mop up any water that leaks out as you remove it. To avoid spillage, you can pull the machine out and tip it backwards 45 degrees.
Hi
Try to removed the front service panel and drained the tub using the drain plug. Check the filter for clogged like various items (coins, a rock, nail, screw, etc).
Second thing you can do is take the drain hose can blow into it without restriction. If not take lose the hoses to the pump. You might want to get some pinch off pliers to save water from going ever where or a shop vac to **** out the tub. If the pump is getting warm current is flowing to it and propeller is jammed more than likely. The front should have a couple of 1/4 screws at the corners on the front I think. should pop after.
I had the same problem with mine. would figure you have it fixed by now, but it is your pump. I had a childs sock get PAST the lint filter and jam my pump. but it does not take long for the pump to go bad once something has gotten into it. Somewhat of an easy fix, if your a do-it-yourselfer
There is no acutal filter on this unit...You cab remove the back panel to access the drain pump ...Or tilt the washer back and access it from the bottom...Remove the drain hose from tub to drain pump...(careful of flow of water from tub)...Check the hose for any blockage...If no blockage then your pump is bad..
A common occurance is blockage of the water pump propellers. Check your machine's manual to familiarise yourself with the drain filter.
Please note by openning the filter, the existing water in the machine will drain out on to the floor. Be prepared for this with towls and mops.
Clean out the filter. Use a torch to look into the cavity and make sure nothing has gone through the filter to the pump propellors.
Once the filter is clean and all the water has drained out. Start the machine on spin cycle. If you can hear the water pump working then all should be well. If there is no sound from the water pump, it needs replacing or further investigation by a technician.
You should have one. Get down low, and look at the kickplate. You should see screws just below the main front panel of the machine.

based on info provided your ge would be a frigidaire made machine, only filter is at drain pump. to access remove lower front access panel (screws on bottom) pump sits in middle of machine, locate large rubber hose connecting to tub, loosen clamp and pull off. inside is plastic strainer cup, empty and replace. make sure nothing went past to pump, reassemble.
My GE Energy Star Front Load Washer is reading 5.9 instead of 59 minutes and not washing clothes. We cleaned the filter and still no luck. Please help.
