Check you have Windows Audio service is running or not or else you have muted the volume with mutimedia button available on the Notebook.
In your RUN Prompt, type "services.msc", press "Enter" key.
Scroll down till you reach "Windows Audio" check the "Status" is "statred" and the "Startup type is "Automatic". if not double click and change the startup type to "automatic" and click the start button to start the service.
Check the Sound button in your notebook.if you have muted. Sound can be muted from the computer control panel too.
Go to Control panel---->Click sound and in "Playback tab,Click Properties, in "Devices usuage", Select "Use this Device (enable).Click "OK" twice.
That's it.
Note : If Audio driver is missing the above step will not work.Install the Audio driver if the Audio driver is missing in the Device Manager.

The driver download page will be displayed. just select the operating system and download the realtek audio driver.
Install the driver and restart the system, you will have sound then.

The playback section in the control panel sound part has a comment "No audio devices are installed" and does not show properties
