I have two different Mighty mule gate openers and want to set the buttons on the remote to open them. The remote that came with the gate opener has nine dip switches and the chamberlain has tewlve.
Chamberlain products do not support a 318Mhz frequency that gto uses, so that remote will not work unless you get a liftmaster receiver or any other one that it uses.
I understanding that the chamberlin is a two button remote so as long as you have the same kind of recierver (a box hooked up in your operator that has dip switches,it recieves signals when the remote and it are set the same.) you should be able to use the two button remote on both machines. If not their is a reciever that is called multi-code and it is universal to work with all gate openers. the chamberlin remote you have will work with it.

Hello fwe... It is unlikely that your old remote and receiver will be compatable with your chamberlain. That said, it is certainly possible to do what you desire. Here is a compatability chart that may be of interest to you. http://www.aaadooropeners.com/remotecompatibility.htm
IF your gate is used by other residents you may not be able to make the modifications to your gate that are needed to use the chamberlain remote control. It may be worth a call to a couple of local garage door opener installers for their insights and also as a source of parts if in fact you are the sole user of the gate and can modify it to your chamberlain remote control.
