Try changing your WiFi encription to WEP or no security, this should be available on your cablemodem/router web internface (need a user and password for that) under the Wireless/Security option.

Hi. Your Wii will only connect properly to your wireless router by the setting WEP any others and you get problems. Set your router to WEP and encription strenth to 64bit, enter a WEP key "or passphrase to generate a WEP key" its a 10 digit password for your wireless security. Oh also nintendo will only work on chanel mode G&B not G not B but G&B.

wep key is a code for your wireless connection.

I dont have an answer but a question and a suggestion. Why are you messing with it if it works?

I suggest set all at default and then if you are concerned about security, go into your setup and turn off "broadcast" so others cannot see your router.

If you need more ... go into each device, get the MAC address for each. Go back to router setup and allow only those MAC addresses that you have on your network.

Im not a pro ... I have never been a fan of router encription. There are simpler ways to get security in my view.

I had this problem, My wirless router is using WEP Authentication with a "Shared Key". I had to change this to either Open or Automatic on the router.

For this its really not needed to uninstall the software log in to the router page and look for wireless settings and get the correct ssid and wep, and set the channel to manual and select  9 or 11 channel . if its in manual the connection will be constant always if not most of the router u will find wireless settings at the back of the router delete the wireless profile and right click on the wireless and view the available wireless network and get connected if u r using windows to configure the wireless  if ur using the asus utility scan the network and add ur network, delete the previous profiles and wireless key's are case sensitive

To secure your belkin wireless network you need to type http://192.168.2.1 into your internet explorer or click on the link in this message.
On the left menu click on security,
Down the box choose 64 bit WEP OR 128 bit WEP.
Select Automatically generate hex pairs using Pass Phrass by placing a tick.
Type in a Pass Phrass in the box and click Apply Changes.
It will open a new window with encription key.
Write it down and keep it a good place.
Close your browser and you are done.
Click on your network icon to search for wireless, when found your network SSID, double click to connect and a pop up window will ask for the encription key.
Type in the key and confirm it and that's all the game.
