Olympus Camedia C-4000 Flash Problems.. Help Please!

Hello I have a Olympus Camedia C-4000 Zoom camera and when ever I want to use the flash or just leave it on auto flash the photo will not take. Flash works, I hear a click but I then get both flashing lights blinking in the back and a beeping sound. When I check to see if the photo is on the card, it does not show up. If I do not use the flash, ever photo works. What do you think the problem may be? Help

The flash is malfunctioning and causing the camera to not work, the flashing lights in the viewfinder is the camera indicating the malfunction. Most likely it is a board that needs repair and that'll cost a flat rate minimum $160 from OLY.

Need to replace flash

The flash is not consumer-replaceable. You will need to have it serviced and it will be very expensive.

Connect an external flash and aftermarket bracket

For off camera flash with the C-770 Ultra Zoom, you will need the appropriate flash cable with your flash and aftermarket bracket. Please use the following information as a reference: FL-CB05 Shoe Mount TTL Flash Cable - this cable mounts to the Hot Shoe on the C-770 Ultra Zoom; and the opposite end attaches to the aftermarket flash bracket's flash shoe or to a standard tripod attachment thread (1/4x20).
