Just bought a samsung tocco lite on o2 paygo - placed my vodaphone sim in then tried unlock code given which would not accept he hash key - consequently i now have phone freeze - how can i resolve this quickly

The way I see it,you are gonna have to pay for that.I bought mine from UK which was network locked by the T-Mobile and then took it to a local mobile repair shop and asked them to get it unlocked for me.I couldn't do it myself because for every mobile the code is unique,and the people who can do it wud not for free.So i ended up paying around 10 Pounds.Now I can use any SIM I want and can take it anywhere.

So I told you the solution,Go to a local mobile repair shop and ask them first if they can do it.It won't take much time either.
