    Hello,

Has the cable been damaged? If its a regular 110 power cord you can replace it but there may be soldering involved. You can obtain the cable at any Home Depot. You will have to route the new cable in the same manner as the old. Splice and strip the coating on the new cable to show the wiring. Desolder the old cable from the device and solder the new cable to the same connection as the old. This connection should be somewhere on the power supply circuitry.

Thanks for the information. I know a place that has all types of cables. The cable is not a difficult one to create but they may already have one available. Cables of this type are usually given to me without charge. If this is the route you wish to take please let me know.

Thank you.

I'm not aware of Onkyo having made a receiver model TX-DS565. Perhaps there's a typo in your message? Did you instead mean Onkyo model TX-DS595? Google search and Remotes.com has listings for the remote for TX-DS595.

Onkyo tx-ds595 not always powering up

This can be due to fault in capacitors as over a period of time it can dry up and so will need potential to make them come to the value specified. So what can be done is to warm the sections one by one and see if the fault clears before time and then change the capacitors in this related section.

Garbled / feedback sounds from powered subwoofer

The surround processing portion of the unit has a problem. In either stereo or direct mode, the digital procesing is bypassed. This could be just the surround processing IC, but that IC may not be available as a separate part. I would suggest that you bring this unit to an authorized Onkyo service center for an estimate.

Can I connect an ipod to Onkyo tx-ds595?

I connect my iPod to my Onkyo using a stereo cable with mini-plug on one end and RCA L&R outs on the other. Just plug the RCA plugs into the AUX or TAPE IN on the Onkyo, and the stereo mini plug into the iPod and play as usual.
