My Bosch dishwasher is great! However, recently the interior has been covered in black grease after a full cycle. What do you think the problem is?

Clogged Bosch SHU 9920 dishwasher

-Sounds like the pump is not working properly or the drain line you connect to sink directly instead to the breath cap before to the sink. Or the breath cap locate too low.
-Make sure the breath cap is mount higher than the line to the sink. (Or as high as possible) This is to prevent any water from the sink pour into the dishwasher.

Good luck

Bosch dishwasher wont drain. At end of cycle is full of cloudy water.

It is possible if you have broken a glass recently that the piece of glass has made its way to the drain pump impeller. You need to remove bottom basket. Remove the filter strainer clamp by rotating CCW. There may be another round filter under the strainer (depending on model). Then with a torque screwdriver remove one screw which holds the plastic pump cover on. Remove the pump cover and pay close attention to the pump impeller. Does it rotate by finger movement? If not it could be jamed with a piece of broken glass. You must remove any obstruction to allow the impeller to turn. I usually force a paper towel piece (half piece while rotating the impeller by finger to allow the paper towel to bring up any obstruction below the impeller) Reassemble the cover and filters carefully and make sure the final strainer clamp aligns correctly with its marks. This insures nothing will make its way to the impeller in future.

Dirty racks

What is the manufacturer and model number of the dishwasher?
Here is the process I would follow to remove the gunk.
Start a short cycle in the dishwasher, without adding detergent powder and after the (hot) water has filled the DW and the wash cycle has begun, open the DW door and add 1/4 cup of household bleach. When the water drains and begins to refill for the 2nd wash cycle, check the dishwasher to see if anything has gotten better and if not, add another 1/4 cup of bleach as soon as the hot water has refilled. Allow the DW to finish the full cycle.
Begin another short wash and as soon as the initial hot water fills and the wash cycle begins, open and add 2 cups (approximatly) of white vinegar. Allow the whole set of cycles to finish and check the insides.
If grease remains, I would use a de-greasing spray (avilable at all hardware stores and most food stores.) Spray on and use paper towels on all surfaces.
Because I do not know the make and model # for your dishwasher, I can not give you a part number for replacement racks.
Good Luck!
