Hi I finished editing the Video, wenn I go to "make disc" ,it shows me that the Video is to big for the Disc..(remaining Capacity of the harddisk is 175000GB the project only takes ~ 18000 GB )Then I go to settings and if I clic finish a Dialog comes up which tell me: "in order to ensure Studio 9 has the latest components yuo must activate MPEG2 Encodinf/Decoding now".Activating is fast free and easy. When I click on the Activation Button to do so a Page open asking me for the Passwort and the Serial # which are shown in ther respective fields.I go to submit and a Dialog comes up telling me that the Serial # is invalid.I checked on my Studio 9 Restauration Disk and the # are correct, what is the Problem then?? Regards Heinz

For assistance with activation of a product you will definitely have to deal with the manufacturer directly as they are the only ones that have access to this information. Also they are up to version 14. How long ago did you purchase this product? You can contact them here:

How can I edit my video disc

For DVD camcorders, it depends on your DVD discs type. Some kinds are edited and finalized on camcorders and can be never modifyed once you finished. In this case you must consider carefully before editing on camcorders and finish it. Other discs allow you to rewrite on it with editing programs like ArcSoft ShowBiz.

Seagate's DiscWizard, Extended Capacity Manager didn't recognize a hard disc with MBR partition style larger than 2TB when trying to maximize the capacity of the 3TB Seagate ST32000641AS drive...

Seagate Extended Capacity Manager

Seagate Extended Capacity Manager lets your operating system support large size discs with MBR partition style, so then you are able to use the space beyond 2 TB: this free space will be recognized as a separate disc, and will be accessible by your operating systems and applications as if it was a regular physical hard disc.

Seagate Extended Capacity Manager wizard will display all hard discs larger than 2 TB (unallocated or with MBR partition style). You can see, which disc space is recognized and allocated by Windows - this space is called Native Capacity in the wizard.

The space beyond 2 TB is displayed as Extended Capacity Zone. You can enable Extended Capacity Discs, and once it is done, this space will be visible by the operating system and ready for disc management operations.

Click Allocate space to see the possible disc space allocation in the next step.

After clicking Apply changes now button, the Extended Capacity Discs will be emulated on your physical disc. In case your physical disc is larger than 4 TB and the host operating system does not support a GPT partition layout, there will be several Extended Capacity Discs.

Note these Extended Capacity Discs are not bootable, and most properties will be the same as a physical disc's.

After allocating the space, you may temporary switch off Extended Capacity Discs by clicking the corresponding option. This will make Extended Capacity Discs invisible for Windows Disc Management tools, though the disc space will remain allocated.

To disable Extended Capacity Discs, click Remove partitions from Extended Capacity Zone and then click Apply changes now button in the next step: these discs will be removed from your system, and as a result - the disc space beyond 2 TB will become inaccessible

HOW TO FINALIZE THE DVD CASSETE AND CONNECT TO T.V SET?

Finalising a disc enables the disc to be played on any other compatible machine. By doing this it changes the disc format so that you can no longer record to it turning it into a Play Only disc. On your Panasonic DVD Recorder you can record to many (if not all depending on the model) of the following DVD Disc formats to the limit of their capacity over multiple occasions. The disc in question can be played back and recorded to on the DVD Recorder during this time but until it is finalised it will not work on any other machine.
DVD Formats: DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, DVD+R, DVD+RW.
How do I Finalise my disc?
  1. When you have finished the initial recording stop the disc and press the ~FUNCTIONS~button.
  2. Using the ~UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT arrows~ on the keypad select "To Others" and press~ENTER~.
  3. Using the ~UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT arrows~ on the keypad Scroll down to "DISC MANAGEMENT" and press ~ENTER~.
  4. When the disc management screen opens you need to use the ~UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT arrows~ on the keypad to scroll down to "FINALIZE" and press ~ENTER~.
  5. Using the ~UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT arrows~ on the keypad select "YES" and press~ENTER~.
  6. Using the ~UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT arrows~ on the keypad select "START" to begin finalizing the disc, please note by pressing start here you will no longer be able to record or edit the disc being finalized.
Finalizing may take up to 15 minutes.
Do not disconnect the mains power in this time. A message appears when finalizing is finished, press the enter button when this appears. It will now play on other compatible machines.

I burnt a video to a DVD+R DL but not playing on my DVD player?

You don't need to format the disc, as it does this during the burn process. What you may find is that your NEC dvd player does not play DVD+R. If you can, re-burn the video on a DVD-R 8.5GB.

You can also compress the video to fit on 4.7GB dvd. Download a program called DVD Shrink 3.2. Put the disc you burnt in the drive, and run DVD Shrink. This will analize the film, and all you need to do is click on Re-Author and lower the compression. It even has a line to show how big the video will be on the disc. On a 4.7GB dvd, you don't want this any higher than 4,430MB.

Hope those work

Tim
