Hi, It sounds as though the compressor has a broken valve or rod making noise internally. The compressor should be quite. You can hear them run but not enough to bother you at all. I have never heard of any of the newer ones having a compressor that supposed to be louder. Sounds as though he didn't want to do anything I don't know. I cant tell you how to check it as you would need to put a set of manifold gauges on it to see if it is working properly. If it continues, I would make another call for free of charge and have them back out! Keep me posted,

Right before the refrigerator starts running, the unit vibrates, makes a clicking noise, and then a series of loud banging noises that sound like hitting a ping pong ball against a table. Then it gets...

This is just a WAG but it doesn't sound like a compressor problem to me. The clicking could be the start relay, which could be a combination of either the start relay or start capacitor.

The vibration and banging is probably the shock mounts that the compressor are mounted to the cabinet frame with. Although rare, if the screws come loose the compressor will slowly destroy the rubber grommet shock mounts. If you are missing even one grommet (need four) then it will vibrate and rattle. If two screws are loose then it will allow it to vibrate and rattle also.

All bets are off if the compressor is very hot to the touch! Then it probably is the compressor.

My GE tfx27f is working fine but when the

the thump ing sound is probably the rubber mounts under the compressor . they go hard and do not insulate the compressor . . pry the comp up on all four mounts and make sure they are loose and not stuck down if ther are hard and not bouncy .. replace them . if compressor has borken internal motor mounts / there is nothing you can do . but put up with noise ..

GE top freezer refrigerator: motor has become very loud and refrigerator vibrates. However, when I move the cold control to a lower number, it gets slightly quieter and vibrates slightly less.

Hi,

Please make sure it is level, the compressor is designed to run on level ground. Also check the fans. if the fan is bad or the bearings are shot, it'll vibrate and make a loud humming noise.

Find out where the noise is loudest. if it's under the fridge, it's the compressor. You have to check the coil for the compressor and if it's inside the freezer, it's the fan bearing.

Please leave me comment, if you need further assistance

Kitchen Aid refrigerator is making a very loud noise!

when you transported this unit did you lay it down or stand it up? If it was layed down then you should of waited at least 24 hours before plugging it up again to give the oil in the compressor time to settle back down. Actually either way it was transported it still needed the 24 hour rest time. So if you automatically plugged it in after transportation you could have messed up the compressor. Let it set unplugged for 2 days then plug it in and see what happens. If loud noise persists then you know the compressor is shot. Goog Luck.

Refrigerator making a loud noise

You probably just need new mounts. They are the rubber feet that the compressor sits on.

Refrigerator makes lot of noise

based from your story. the noise could be coming from the compressor as it starts. compressor usually vibrates a lot when starting. it would last from a few seconds to a few minutes then would normalize as it sucked all the evaporator pressure down to its normal readings. you can check the rubber mountings of the compressor, you may need to replace them. also check for some tubings that may be rubbing or touching as the compressor vibrates. tighten alllso those mounting bolst of the compressor. that should solve your problem. if everything is done and still the same, the noise could be coming inside the compressor which there will be no solution but to replace the compressor. the cleaning that you did helped it a little bit because the vibration decreased a little coz it was able to breathe a little.
