Hi,
There is Sony Digital Voice Editor Version 3.2.01 available to work on Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.
Click Sony Support to download "DVESetup_EN_3201" file (size approx 83MB) and install it in your computer, this will solve your problem of ICD-SX25
Thanks.

Right, please use another USB cable as existing USB cable sounds defective/ internal damage.
    Thanks.

OK, please rest the unit, I think there would be tiny reset button that can be pressed by paper clip wire.
If that does not solve the problem then hook the unit with any other computer just to confirm that player is fine.
    Thanks.

I would appreciate Windows 7 software for Sony ICD-P630F so I can connect it to my PC. Thank you

According to Sony, you should be able to connect it to your Windows 7 PC provided that it isn't 64 bit.

All you would need to do is make sure you are using the Sony Digital Voice Editor Version 3.3.01 because it appears to be the latest software to support this particular device on Windows 7.

Sony Handycam DCR-HC42 Mini DV not recognized by Windows 7

win vista and win 7doesn't support usb streaming. the usb driver for this model would not be compatible with your computer's OS. although, you were able to download PMB still this wouldn't work, it's basically an alternative software that you can use with the newer OS. still the device driver would not be installed. and you would get a message that "ilink connection is not detected". the reason you get that is bec the camcorder and the software is intended for use with the dv (ilink or ieee1394) connection. so if your computer has an ieee1394 card and you have a compatible ilink cable, then your good to go,it should be a plug-and-play connection (no drivers required). all you need then would be a video capturing software (like win moviemaker) to transfer videos from tape to PC. hope this helps. thanks :)

ICD P320 digitacl recorder by siny

That is NOT the 64 bit vista driver. At least my Vista 64 will not find the ICD-P320. The Digital Voice Editor installs fine, but the driver does no. Even going to the downloaded folder with the drivers and executing the setup for it does not work.

Other ideas, please.
