I am trying to hook up my Yamaha Universal Dock YDS-11 for my iPod touch into my Yamaha HTR 5830 Amp but there is not where to plug it into. Do I need another type of cables to do this.

Hi, I'm afraid that your receiver doesn't support YDS-11. You can check it at yamaha site. This dock uses special cable and special connector on the receiver (which yours doesn't have).
So the only way to connect your iPod to receiver is via analog audio output (jack connector on the iPod).

I have a yamaha rx-v463 and a yds-11 iPod dock that I can't get to work. My iPod comes on but I can't get any sound out of the speakers. Haven't used the iPod in a long time and I feel that I don't have...

First check the yam does play other sources of sound, e.g. radio or CD. Then try your ipod in another dock to check the Ipod is working.
Then check the manual for the Yam to be sure that you have set it to a mode where it will take in the signal from the IPod. Did you switch it away from IPod source to play a DVD or a CD or the radio?

Ipod touch no longer compatable with dock ( Yamaha YDS - 10 )

Even though this is the early dock it should basically work with all generations of pods n phones.

Not sure what your symptoms of 'incompatibilty' are, but see if this sounds anywhere similar.
Had a similar problem recently with a TSX130- same dock technology as far as I know, linking with my iphone 3gs.
phone would disconnect/stop charging after a few secs or minutes- maybe not be recognised when first docked and sometimes caused the TSX to turn OFF...like protection mode requiring a power off full disconnect/reboot.
Other ipods were still ok, it was the phone that had the problem.
Not sure what happened to make this do this but I only solved the problem when I upgraded to OS4 on the phone.
Hope that may help.

YAMAHA YDS-11 TO A RX-V459

Hi, as per yamaha site RX-V459 doesn't have the DOCK connector which is used by YDS-11 dock (or the bluetooth module). This is the only possibility to connect the YDS-11. YDS nor receiver don't have USB connector and they are not needed.
For example RX-V465 does have DOCK connector and supports YDS-11.
For your receiver, you can use only analog audio cable with your iPod.
