MX46-633V CONNECTING FRONT USB

I believe you're referring to the AOpen MX46-533V

The Front Panel USB header is Blue in color, and located in-between the white No.3 PCI expansion slot, and bottom edge of the motherboard;

http://www.ebay.com/itm/AOpen-Model-MX46-533V-Socket-478-Desktop-System-Motherboard-/130774572519?pt=Motherboards&hash=item1e72c59de7

With the motherboard in the installed position;
5 pins across the Top row, 4 pins across the Bottom row.

Pins across the Top row are numbered EVEN
Pins across the Bottom row are numbered ODD

Starting on the Left side coming across to the Right, Top row;
Pins 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10

Starting on the Left side coming across to the Right,
Bottom row;
Pins 1, 3, 5, and 7

There are TWO USB connectors supported off of this USB front panel header.

For one of the USB front panel connectors;

A) Pin 1 is USB PWR 0
Goes to the VCC contact pin on the USB connector.

B) Pin 3 is USB_FP_P0-
Goes to the D- pin on the USB connector.
(Data - )

C) Pin 5 is USB_FP_P0+
Goes to the D+ pin on the USB connector
(Data +)

D) Pin 7 is Ground (GND)
Goes to the Ground (GND) pin on the USB connector

E) No pin 9

F) Pin 2 is USB PWR 0

For the other Front Panel USB connector;

A) Pin 2 is USB PWR 0
Goes to the VCC pin on the USB connector

B) Pin 4 is USB_FP_P1-
Goes to the D- pin on the USB connector

C) Pin 6 is USB FP P1+
Goes to the D+ pin on the USB connector

D) Pin 8 is GND

E) Pin 8 is USB_FP_OC0
Leave unconnected

This is more information on a standard USB connector pinout,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB

( A USB connector, and a USB plug are not wired the same.
The plug is wired backwards from what a connector is.
Otherwise you would have power and signal going to the wrong pins, and burn the USB Front Panel header out on the motherboard )

AOpen MX46-533V motherboard manual, but it is in Japanese.
May be one in English out there.
The Front Panel header pinout, USB header pinout, etc, is easily cross identified,

How to wire front panal

You will need to open the computer case and check that the cables that run from the actual power button to the motherboard are plugged into the proper spot on the motherboard. Sometimes reseating the cable can fix this issue.

I think this is the link to your motherboard documentation: http://www.via.com.tw/download/mainboards/3/4/p4mapro533_r100.pdf

Check the page 2-14 or 2-15 and see if that helps you to identify the actual connection for your power switch.

It has a front lcd temp indicator and a bunch of wires to connect to the mother board. I have no manual and I am confused

If you can describe the problem by listing the wore colours and any lettering on them, I might be able to help. Also the motherboard you are trying to connect to as I need to find out the Fpanel pinout

To help you initially.

1.) Wires that are grouped in a series of Red Green white and black are commonly the USB connectors which will go to the uSB headers.

2.) Black and white wire coupled together as a 2 pin is usually the power switch which goes to the Fpanel header

3.) Any wires that appear to be fused in a plastic type sheath are sensor wires.

I'd first try tracing the source of the wires and see where they lead on the front panel, note these down and repost

USB power connector missing

The USB connections are in groups of 4 and 5 pins in parallel, with one pin missing at one end. The connector goes on, with its first pin(normally red) at the end that has both pins.

TRYING TO HOOK UP MU POWER BUTTON NEED TO KNOW

Hi there
The front panel connectors are mainly,
  • harddisk activity connector
  • power switch connector
  • reset switch connector
  • power LED connector
  • speakers connector
  • USB connector
Harddisk activity connector
This normally comes red in colour and is labeled as HDD-LED
Power switch connector
This comes green in colour and is labeled as POWER-SW
Reset switch connector
This usually comes grey in colour and is labeled as RST-SW
Power LED connector
This is usually green in colour and is labled as PWR-LED
Speakers connector
This speaker will give different beep sounds during boot to tell the user if there is any errors. It occupies 4 pins, however only 2 is important for the function. Be sure to connect the red coloured cable to the positive polarity and the black to the negative.

KM18G pro motherboard power connection, reset sw, power sw, etc.

Hi.

You can download the manual for your motherboard here.

Inside you will find information of where does each connector go. Each connector on the case has a marking on it (HDD, PWR, RST or similar) which stands for hard disk LED, power button, reset button and so on. Connect it to the right place, and problem is solved.

If you need any further assistance, feel free to ask.

I have a e-machine. Model w3619 a friend sold to me. He unplugged the two power leads that lead from the power button on the front panel from the motherboard.Where do i reconnect them?

The correct wiring plan for this computer is as follows:

Pwr Led Pwr Sw N/C

X X X X O

X X X X X
HDD Rst N/C

Note : N/C = no connection, top row has no pin, bottom row has a pin but not connected.

when you plug in the Pwr Led and HDD connectors, a light should come on, if it doesn't , turn off the pc and turn the connector round on the pins, re -power on your pc.
