Sounds like an ignition problem. The fan is supposed to start first to get the airflow going, then the igniter should heat up (glow igniters) or start sparking (spark plug igniters), then the fuel starts pumping. If the igniter is not working the fuel won't start. Things to check.... igniter - see if it is intact, fuse (usually in the circuit board), If those are ok, then check fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter. Hope this helps.

Compaq 1420NX - When I turn power on it runs for 2 seconds and shuts off. All 3 fans are operating. I haven't used it in over a year, and it was working fine when last used

b> Computer does not boot up The problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact.
Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you. Just like you sometimes need a mechanic to repair your car, sometimes you do need a technician to diagnose and identify the fault or faults on your computer. Not only does a good service technican have the experience to deal with this type of problem, they also have the equipment that allows them to look at things the average computer user can't see, and he has a collection of replacement parts that can be used to quickly test individual components on your computer.

After turning on my my acer 2300 its boots up fine but the fan only works for a few seconds then stops and then does not work at all

Normally if the fan is bad and failing the laptop will run hot (overheat) and shut down. If yours is not doing that, then you are fine. Sometimes the fans will turn on and off as needed.

I have an Electrolux High Speed Oven E30SO75FPS that's 3 years old and the Magnetron has failed for the 3rd time. What can be causing this?

Is the internal cooling fan working?

Are the ducts and vents clear?

Problems with any of those can result in overheating, which destroys magnetrons.

I have seen high voltage rectifier diodes interact with magnetron in funny ways. I'd replace the diode, too.

You can find links to helpful exploded view diagrams and part ordering help here.

I recommend that you bookmark that link to your favorites.

Finally, baking potatoes and making popcorn really give the magnetron a workout.

You should put about 1/2 cup of water in the rear corner of the microwave when cooking those foods.

It helps "preload" the oven to prevent execessive microwave energy reflection back to the magnetron.

No picture, siren type noise as restarting

My Toshiba dlp 62hm116 was used for 3 months then stored for 2 years, I turned it on yesterday and it makes a loud grinding noise which I think is probably from the exhaust fan area and the picture is black except white at both vertical sides. It worked fine the last time I used it 2 years ago. Any ideas?

Maytag Plus side by side refrigerator stops cooling. I unplugged it for 24 hours. When I plugg it back in, it works fine for about 2-3 months. Then it stops again and works fine after being unplugged for...

Take food out of the freezer, take out the racks, take off the back panel on the bottom/back ( probably 4-6 screws).. You will see a fan. If that fan has ice around it, then take it all off, chip it, hair dryer, what ever you want. Unplugging it for 24 hours is not enough for all of the ice to melt so it is probably taking a couple months to build back up. Generally this happens in a high humidity time of the year. It will probably happen again, do not freet. Just clean it again. I know one customer that had it happen two years in a row and that was about four years ago. He has had the unit (Maytag Plus side by side refrigerator) about 10 years and is just fine with it. Little inconvience, but sometimes that is the breaks in life. Good luck.... f067b6b.gif

My blower only works on setting 123 + air con not that cold

You have a resistor array assembly going out. What you described is typical of the first resistor going out and over loading the second, which goes out and overloads the third. Replace the HVAC resistor array. Don't buy a used one. Spend the extra money on the new OEM dealer item. Good luck to you.
