Need to remove wash module

A part from a pan fell into the wash module. How do I remove the lower spray arm, etc. in order to remove the part? --- Thanks! We have a Whirlpool dishwasher quiet partner 3 and we need to know how to disassemble the wash module. There seems to be a piece of glass or some object that is making our dishwasher loud. Can you send the information to us? Thanks Russ

Take some pliers and unscrew the central bolt in the middle of the lower spray arm. The hole in the arm acts as a single screw thread holding the arm to the base. Then there are three screws to remove with "star" heads. They're six-sided, but pointed like a star, not hex. That's as far as I have gotten. It looks like the filter plate turns and then can be removed, but it won't budge on mine.

I have the same problem. I've taken off the lower spray arm and removed the three screws but I can't get anything to move. Please help, THANKS.

How do I remove lower spray arm

Pull out the lower wash rack. Using a flat-bladed screwdriver, CAREFULLY pry the 2 tabs at the bottom of the washarm so it can move up and over the "hold-down plate" Be careful! Those tabs have a tendency to break off, especially the older the dishwasher is. You may be forced to buy a new wash arm.

Whirlpool dishwasher DU1145XTPQA. I removed the lower arm etc and cleaned debris from my chopper/pump area. went through steps in reverse to reassemble it all BUT when I put the lower spray arm back on and...

I did the same exact thing, and ended up with the same result, A very wobbly lower spray arm. Despite it wobbling and hitting the feeder tube to the upper spray arm, it works.... somehow....

The bottom washer arm does not turn or squirt water

Hi Matt.
The lower housing underneath the lower wash arm may still have something blocking the water passages.

If the spray arm is clean and it freely rotates try lightly pressing down on the wash arm and then rotate it. Your checking to see that when water is applied to the spray arm it forces the arm down against the lower housing tower and hopefully does not lock up. If it does lock up while pressing down and rotating obviously you need to find out what the cause is.

You may have to remove the lower wash arm housing and clear the debris from the water passages. Once the passages are clear it should work fine.

Thanks for using FixYa,

Kelly

Lower spray arm siemens aquastop dishwasher doesn't rotate

Sprayers require water to pass through the jets to provide motion to the arms.

Suggestion;

Remove the sprayer from the machine and look for blockages. (Removal should be easy, at it is expected that the user will need to clean the jets occasionally; If you have any problems removing it, consult your manual).

Kenmore dishwasher has stopped draining.

remove the kick panel below the door, place a pan, etc under where the drain hose connects to the drain extension tube, and slide the clamp back some so you can slide the hose off of the extension tube (white plastic tube) and drain any excess fluid into the aforementioned pan, etc., then unscrew the extension tube and check for plugs, or restrictions.
the sump may also be pluged beneath the strainer assembly, and that requires removing the lower spray arm, the water tube that runs up the inside back of the unit, and the upper parts of the assembly below them to access the drain/pump sump area.
last but not least the impeller is jamed and might be able to be freed by removing whatever has lodged within there..
ya never know...
best of luck,

KitchenAid Dishwasher (model KUDS01IJBL) has black gunk inside

That black gunk is caused by soap deposits and food particles that do not get washed down the drain. This all collects in the area around the door gasket and front of the wash tub and forms a sticky black sludge. You need to periodically clean the interior of the dishwasher out with a non-abrasive cleaner with some bleach in it to kill bacteria. You should also check the wash pump sump (located under the lower spray arm) to make sure it is not being clogged with food and debris. In order to access the pump sump, you will need to perform the following:

1. Remove the lower wash rack and lower spray arm.

2. Remove the upper wash rack and spray arm.

3. Locate the screws holding in the upper spray feed tube. Remove the screws to the feed tube and turn the whole assembly 1/4 turn to the right (CW direction). The entire assembly will unlock from the wash pump assembly and lift out.

4. Remove the strainer assembly (known as an accumulator) that covers the pump sump area.

Inspect the sump area for food particles and debris that may be contributing to the mess inside the wash tub. If you need some guidance, pcappliancerepair.com has some very helpful exploded view diagrams to assist you.

If you have any questions, or require further assistance, please let me know. I hope this is helpful to you.

Spray arm not attached

You may have stripped the threads on the spray arm or spray arm support. I believe the threads are reverse-threaded and since they are plastic, can easily be stripped if turned in the wrong direction. This has happened to me before. The solution is to replace the lower wash arm and spray arm support. You can find the parts at repairclinic.com. Just type in you model number and look for item numbers 830883 (spray arm support) and 9040141 (lower wash arm). You may also want to check out searspartsdirect.com as well. The parts will be located under the "Lower Washarm and Strainer Parts" section. The two sites do offer comparable pricing. Post back if you need further assistance. I hope this helps you.

Need to remove wash module

You should be able to hold the spray arm and unscrew the center section to remove the entire assembly. Be aware of any washers or other parts that need to be re-installed when putting it back on.
