This site has great step by step guides for many different games and software.

http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/WRT54GX2/WRT54GX2index.htm

If your application isn't on there, follow the guide for any application, but change the numbers of the port in last few steps to the port ranges you need.

Good luck, don't hesitate to message me for more help/clarification

Can't view IP cam externally

Follow The Process:-
1.Visit https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports
input the port 5000 and check is it open or not, if it is not open it means you need to check port forwarding in your main internet router/modem.
2. By Default Routers/Modems Http port it 80. so you need to change ip camera http port 80 to 81 and do port forwarding and to view on android devices check another ports in ip camera network settings. so same port forwarding and check in yougetsignal website.

NetGear WGR826V has no clear port forwarding section in the setup, the mamnual is as clear as brick as to forwarding...so how do I forward a port on this brain dead router?

Forwarding Port – If you select 'Same as Incoming port' then all incoming traffic on specified Service is forwarded to LAN server without modifying Destination Port. – If you select 'Forward to another port range' then all incoming traffic received on the Service port (or range of ports) is forwarded to this port or range of ports of the LAN Server. – This field is disabled if action selected is "Block Always". – If you want to forward the traffic to a single port then enter port value in start port and leave finish port empty. – If you want to forward the traffic to range of ports then enter non zero value in finish port and make sure that service record attached to this rule has range of ports and range is equal to that of forwarding ports. – For example if you select Service as HTTP (TCP/80), LAN Server IP address as 192.168.15.10 and Forwarding port as 8080 then all traffic coming from internet on – TCP/80 (HTTP) to this Router is redirected to TCP/8080 port of 192.168.15.10 • WAN Users: These settings determine which packets are covered by the firewall rule, based on their source (WAN) IP address. Select the desired option: – Any All IP addresses are covered by this firewall rule. – Address range If this option is selected, you must enter the "Start" and "Finish" fields. – Single address Enter the required address in the "Start" fields. • Log: This determines whether packets covered by this firewall rule are logged. Select the desired action. – Never - never log traffic considered by this firewall rule, whether it matches or not. – Match - Log traffic only it matches this firewall rule. (The action is determined by this firewall rule.)
Ok well this is out of the manual, to me it seems straight forwards, but it is a brick too though, there is an example to help you, basically you tell it the Address of the PC, (Right click on NIC and get address) that you want ports to go to.. then ALLOW it, UN-disable actually.. in the tables.

HOW CAN I FORWARD A PORT? THIS ROUTER IS NOT LISTED IN PORT FORWARDING APPLICATIONS LIKE SIMPLE PORT FORWARDING ETC.. OR SUGGEST ANY OTHER WAY TO FORWARD PORT

In order to get to the page you need to port forward you need to know your default gateway.
Usually:
192.168.0.1
192.168.1.1
192.168.2.1

Enter those into your web browser, if nothing comes up then go to Start. Then click run(or search if you have vista) type "cmd" then type in ipconfig

Start>Run>Cmd>Ipconfig
There is where you can see your default gateway. Enter that into you browser. I t might ask for a password, it's usually admin.

Also a lot of the port forwarding issues are due to your firewall settings. Make sure you add the ports to there as well.

Port forwarding

hi there,
this is a basic step used to forward ports to your system.
Port Forwarding Steps for Routers 1. Log into your router. Usually the URL is http://192.168.1.1/, and enter the username , and the password . If you have never set a password, the password (which you should change) is admin. Consult the manual if you have never set up your router before or need to reset the password. 2. Click on the "Applications & Gaming" tab or Under Advanced, click Port Forwarding.
3. Click on the "Port Range Forward" tab .
4. In the "application" field, type "web" (if you are forwarding wb traffic on port 80) or "torrent" (if you are forwarding bittorrent traffic on port 40156). This is just a "nickname" so that you can recognize what you were trying to do when you come back to it.
5. In the "Start" field, enter: 80
6. In the "End" field, also enter: 80
7. Set "Protocol" to TCP. Web and Bittorrent servers use only TCP, so there's no reason fo forward UDP traffic too and create an unnecessary security risk.
8. In the "IP Address" field, enter: 192.168.1.11 or your system IP address.
9. Click "Save Settings." Forwarding should begin immediately.
