I have a Samsung SP50L6HX, I replaced the Lamp but the TV still wont switch on. You can hear it trying to switch on the lamp, but nothing is happening. Any Ideas why this is?
Hi, Samsung haves a known issue with the ballast, once you make a replacement of the lamp, sometimes its harder to ignite a new lamp that has 100% of gas inside than igniting a old lamp that has maybe 60% or 50% of gas inside. Just in order to ignite the lamp, the ballast needs to send some High Pulses of Voltage, as high as 15 kV (that is the constant clicking sound that you are hearing). In order to resolve this you need to change the Ballast Board.
I tried to look for your ballast with your TV Model # at samsungparts.com , but nothing showed up.
You will need to find out which ballast part # you have in order to find it online. To locate the ballast part # please check the end of this video, you only need to take the lower back cover of TV off. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jr_9A5Xd2Q
