How do I turn the histogram off the screen on my D40x Nikion?

When you are viewing images with the histogram showing, press the down arrow on the command dial and the screens will scroll through various overlays until you reach the viewing screen you want.

You can disable the histogram in the setup menu.

Date on pics

Bring up the photo on the camera. Press up or down until you get the histogram (yellow graph). When you get this, press up once, and look at the bottom of the screen.

to turn this setting off just press the down arrow button when reviewing your photos. you will scroll through a number of ways to view tho photo including histogram, and one of the settings is just the picture.

When viewing the picture, Press the multi selector up or down to cycle through the following information:
File Information↔Shooting Data Page 1↔Shooting Data Page 2 ↔ Retouch History (retouched copies only)↔Highlights↔RGB Histogram↔File Information.

The "Multi-selector" is the "arrow" buttons: Up, down, left, right.
