I have a problem nobody seems to know the answer to. My daytime running lights get so hot they melt the housing around them. I took it to the dealerhip and they had it all day couldnt find anything. After that they replaced one of the bulbs now my dashlights dont work neither do my tail lights or daytime running lights. I'm hoping the overvoltage is just the alternator. There was a problem with aftermarket bulbs being wrong..check connectors and make sure it has the proper bulbs..see your local dealer for the right bulbs

Could be a blown fuse. Find the fusebox and get a fuse remover and find which is the headlamp fuse and full it and look at it and if stuff wiggles around in the housing which will be colored you need a new one. (very cheap fix) hope this helps:)
Theres a module inside the blower housing that seems to be a problem on these vehicles. Mine wouldn't blow on 5. Took it apart and discovered it to be a bad connection where this module plugs into the harness or something in the module itself shorted as one of the pins looked as if it had been hot and the plastic around it was melted. Theres 2 different parts available, one is about $60 and the other is $25. Get the higher one because its the newer designed part that wont fail.
There is no recall regarding the headlights on that vehicle.
What typically happens is the wiring inside the light housing melts and the bare wires randomly touch each other.
You can verify this by taking one of the plastic covers off the back of a headlamp housing and checking out the three wire harness inside. It is extremely common for this to occur on that vehicle. The wiring can be repaired, though difficult without removing the lamp. If you wish to replace the wiring with factory replacement parts, there is no service parts for the lamp, you must replace the entire housing unfortunately. For this reason most people just repair the melted wires.
ya know it kinda sounds like the headlight switch that switches from high beam to low beam has a bad contact. You don't have one of those 4-beam modules that turn on all 4 lights on high beam do you? that thing screwed my whole headlight system up, I ended up throwing it in the trash.
I have the chiltons and haynes manual, I'm sure between the two we'll find a good diagram. I gotta get my youngin to open house at school, but I'll pull the books out and send you the wiring diagram.
