My canon powershot a80 turns on but the pictures come out all black why ?

This is known problem of ccd imager chip failure in Canon A80 camera and ccd imager chip will be replaced to fix picture problem.

If camera shows previously taken pictures in playback mode and does notshow live view to take fresh pictures then it is ccd imager chipfailure. CCD imager will be replaced in your Canon A80 camera.

Remove the card and battery...press all the buttons...insert the card and then the battery...turn on the camera. If it turns on, go into the menu and find "reset" and follow the on-screen instructions. In the future, try using a separate card reader to download your pictures to a folder you create on your desktop.

Seems your Canon A80 camera got known problem of bad ccd imager IC that needs to be replaced.
