Provided all the bulbs work [test out of car] sounds like a bad earth either in bulb holder or from the light cluster. Sometimes the rear stop/tail lights will also blink/glow in unison with the indicators

Hi, I have a couple of questions. 1. were the signals working before you replaced the brake light bulbs, and did you use the recommended bulbs? 2. Do the brake lights work now?
The brakes and signals use the same filaments, so these things are tied together.
I believe this car has a rear bulb that has two fillaments, one for side lights the other shared for braking and flash. sounds like a blown bulb or a bad ground connection. Check the bulb and the bulb holder and ground connection.
Turn signal blinking quickly generally indicates a blown bulb front or rear or bad connection.
