Or in a few words, instead of displaying web pages it downloads them on your computer. This is most likely a technical issue with your Internet Service Provider or with one of Facebook's servers. I bet my kidney it will be cleared out withing a few hours, but until then - use a different browser :)
The easiest way to change this is navigate to the page you want to be your home page.
Once there you can set it to be your new home page by doing the following depending on your browser:
IE: Select "tools" menu -> internet options. Then in the "General" tab, click use current in the Home page form
Firefox: Select "edit" menu -> preferences. Then in the "General" tab, click use current pages (please note if you have more than one page open, they will all be your home pages and open in separate tabs).
Opera: Select "Tools" menu -> preferences. Then in the "General" Tab click use current.
Chrome: Click the wrench icon -> preferences. Click the checkbox next to "Open the following pages" and then click use current.
Please leave feedback if this was helpful. Thanks.

So, you could have the following in the Home Page field: http://www.google.com | http://www.ibm.com
Thereafter, whenever you open your home page, you'll get an extra window with the second URL opened. It sounds like you may have gotten some junk in there. In the case of my example above, you'd see Google open and a new tab with IBM.
