I have a motorola razor with an old cingular sim card in it. It was used only for 1 week. I want to unlock the phone and replace the sim card with another one

You do not need to unlock the phone in order to use another sim card with the phone. Just insert the card and as long as the card has been setup with your number, it will work fine. If the card asks for a pin code, you need to contact AT&T or T-Mobile for that code, otherwise you should be good to go. Let me know if you have any problems, or is I did not understand your needs properly, and I will walk you through the process.

Sim card

Make sure you store all your phonebook contacts in the SIM card and your SMS messages too.
Then exchange the SIM's and your actual line and number will be on the new phone.

Need AT&T phone for old sim card

Alternatively, you can take the SIM card to any Cingular/AT&T store and get a new one, usually for free.

Otherwise, simply search for the year that SIM card was made in Google using the model number located on it. Then look for phones manufactured around the same time.

Motorola Razr v3 cell phone

The way yo can tell if it's unlocked it's by installing two different types of SIM cards, let's say one from Cingular/ATT and then one for T-Mobile, if they both work...then it's unlocked. They might have not unlocked it properly. Let me know I can try to help

No reception? HELP??

It sounds like your phone is not unlocked. Did you get the phone through a different provider and your sim card through some one else? For ex, here in US, a cingular SIM will not work in a Sprint phone.
