Keyboards are very cheap these days, and you need a new one, no question.

Spilled liquid on Keyboard!

1. Purchase plastic keyboard cover. 2. Keep coffee etc. anywhere not near keyboard.

For spill, unplug keyboard. If non sugar liquid, invert keyboard, shake or tap gently. Wipe with lent free absorbent cloth while still inverted. If soda or coffee with sugar, pour 1/4 cup of clear clean (distilled the best) water onto keyboard (yes), Then invert. Let dry a minimum of several hours still inverted. I cheat with a hairdryer on low 6-12 inches. After keyboard is completely dry (and cool). Plug in after turning computer off, restart, test all keys, including shift, option etc. If keys miss or don't work buy new keyboard and cover! Aloha, Cliff

You have to be gentle but you can use a tech sized screwdriver and pull the key off. From there you can clean if up a bit more thoroughly.

Keyboard dont type

No matter how careful you may be, knocking a cup of coffee or spilling a glass of soda over your keyboard may happen. This does not, however, mean the end of your keyboard. If you act quickly, you may be able to fix your wet keyboard to avoid any corrosion of its electronic components or any short circuit which might render it unusable. By following a few recommendations, you should be able to fix your wet computer keyboard.

Unplug the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any corrosion or short circuit. If you spilled water over your laptop's keyboard, turn your computer off by clicking on "Shut Down" on "Turn Off" in the start menu, unplug the power supply and remove the battery. Turn the keyboard upside down and shake it to remove most of the water from it. Take a hair dryer and set it to its lowest temperature setting. Use it to dry any water which might remain under your keyboard's keys. Wait at least 12 hours before plugging your keyboard into your computer again. If your computer is a laptop, wait 12 hours before turning it on again. For Other Liquids Disconnect the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any short circuit or corrosion. Turn your computer off by selecting "Shut Down" or "Turn Off" in the start menu, remove the battery and disconnect the power supply. Place paper towels on a table, turn the keyboard upside down and shake it over them to allow most of the liquid to fall down. Take a few clean paper towels and wipe the liquid off your keyboard's keys. To clean between the keys, you can also use cotton swabs with just a little bit of water. If the liquid which you spilled over your keyboard contained a high amount of sugar, such as soda or sugared coffee, you might have to remove some of your keyboard's keys to clean the surface under the keys with paper towels or swabs. You can do so by lifting them gently with a screwdriver or by using a key remover, which you can find in some IT stores. Wait at least 12 hours before using your keyboard again. If your computer is a laptop, wait the same length of time before turning it on again. I spilled some 7up on my dsi, my dsi's R and L buttons weren't working and so my cousin ripped them off(against my orders) So i spilled the soda on it, without the R and L buttons. Now it won't turn on,...

the problem is this, the liquid you spilled on it has gotten into the panel and has therefore caused a real mess of both your panel and device.this is common to all electronic devices, the only way out is if you can take it apart carefully and try to use a piece of cloth soaked in methylated spirit to wipe the entire board clean(methylated spirit dries faster and evaporates other liquids like your 7up which is probably still on the board causing damage).if this doesn't work, the only way out is to give it to an engineer or call the company because the liquid might have caused a short circuite and damaged the whole board beyond repairs.

Spilled soda on eeepc 1000ha cleaned and dried interior but now will not complete boot and makes a continus beeping sound

Liquid damage is usually fatal. It maybe that the beeping sound is a keyboard key that is stuck on. It sounds that, at the very least, you will need the keyboard replacing, but I wouldn't like to say that was all. Don't get your hopes up!

After spilling soda on my laptop it turns on and works fine for 1 hour, then screen goes black. I cleaned keyboard fine. Problem is there always. I have to wait for laptop to cool down(fans work fine),...

A soda spill will do this every time. As the Notebook recovers I doubt that the inverter board as gone. But the suger from the soda could be melting and causing a short. The only real solution is to completely dismantle the notebook and clean it with white spirit or similar. It will help if you can download disassembly instructions first! PS Try not to use it for too long without cleaning it.

Spill soda on my laptop keyboard

It is likely the only problem is that the soda is causing the keys to stick. There is probably no damage to any other internal components. Usually, laptop keyboards have a metal-based frame/tray that will protect the internal components from minor spills.

If you want to get rid of the cracking sound, you'll need to purchase a replacement keyboard from the laptop manufacturer or another source such as eBay, and then remove the sticky keyboard and replace it with the newly purchased one.

KEYBOARD

I'm afraid you're going to have to replace the keyboard. I really like my Dr. Pepper, and have had to replace three keyboards in two different laptops because of spillage, maybe one of these days I'll learn. Even the smallest amount of liquid will kill a keyboard, and the thing to keep in mind after a spill, is that the keyboard will either work, and may require some cleaning, or not work at all, and require replacement.
