The DLP chip needs to be replaced. Samsung is aware of this problem and will probably cover the cost of part and labor. call 1-800-samsung for nearest service center. I replaced the chip on a 3 year old machine yesterday and Samsung covered all costs.

Its a DLP SET- you have a bad optical light engine and more white spots may appear over time.

I have black and white spots on my 52" samsung projection tv screen

White dots usually indicates that the DLP chip is failing and will need to be replaced. This is a repair best left to a technician. You can call 1-800-samsung to see if this repair would be covered under their white dot warranty, some models are covered.

White spots on TV Screen

DLP/mirror chip is going bad. A common problem on Sammy TVs after 2-3 years. Chip is user replaceable (try samsungparts.com or ebay) for about $150-200. Sammy was (last year) repairing the DLP White Spot problem for free. You MUST talk to ECR (executive customer service) to even think about getting that consideration--forget the standard CS people. Don't know if they are still covering this out of warranty in 2010.

Spots on screen in front of picture

This could be an issue with your DMD board or your Video Board. Go to the menu, if the white spots show on the menu, the issue is with your DMD board, but if they don't show, the issue is with your Video board.
