Trouble ejecting slide from SF200 nikon coolscan 4000 ed

I installed the nikon scan ver 4.02 on osx 10.4 I can only scan one by one as the driver doesn´t eject the slide properly and I have to force quit.... firmware is actualizaed to 1.10. any idea?
Thanks in advance.

    thanks for your quick answer.
in fact when I open the scanning window, i use the "ejecting" icon when pressed to introduce a new slide. It seems there is an inversion of functions for that icon.
When i scan by lot the program is stucked trying without end to eject the slide...
so i am scanning othe slide one by one... grrrr
    thanks anyway.

Open the case of the scanner, and check to make sure that the ejection mechanism is not malfunctioning, or jammed someway.  If this is not the problem, try using thinner slides as thicker ones could also cause this.  If all else fails try un plugging the scanner for a few minutes, and try again.

No Mac driver

Get the older 3.X version of Nikon Scan online.
It works fine with my 4000ED Firewire on a MBP running OSX 10.6.
For some reason my 5000ED USB runs fine on NS 4.0.2 and 10.6 on an older iMac, but 4.0.2 won't run at all on the MBP. Don't know why. Installed, uninstalled and reinstalled many times. No luck.

Nikon Super Coolscan Jam Solution Do you find your older slides, cardboard...

Nikon Super Coolscan Jam Solution

e487dc7.jpg

Do you find your older slides, cardboard slides, or irregular slides jam in the Nikon SF-210 Slide Feeder for your Nikon CoolScan 4000?

Try this solution:

Take a AAA battery and place it in rear, left side of the slide feeding tray as pictured below:

3448982.jpg

The slides will fan out nicely, and your Nikon CoolScan will no longer try to load more than one at a time. Instead it will load them one at a time, 50 per tray, and you can actually walk away from it and let it do its job, just the way you intended to when you bought the SF-210 slide feeder attachment!

I hope that helps.

Why Nikon CoolScan V ED Film Scanner does't work with mac OSX lion?

According to the Nikon site the software for the Coolscan is not compatible for Mac OS Lion, you need to purchase silverfast to get it to work see http://www.scandig.com/filmscanner/nikon/nikon-coolscan-v-ed.html silverfast can be bought from http://www.silverfast.com/ you can download a demo from here to see if it works.

Recently upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7. Where can I get correct drivers to run with my Nikon Super Coolscan slide scanner LS-4000 ED model. I have Nikon Scan 3.0 twain software. Stu Milligan

Hello there.
This will help you if you have 64-bit Windows 7, because officially, there is not windows 7 64 bit driver.
Just read and do everything.

http://www.earthboundlight.com/phototips/coolscan-vista-64.html
Otherwise, if you have windows 7 32bit click here:

To check bits, go right click on My Computer, Properties, and you will see it.

Trying to install Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 ED, for some reason the installation disc doesn't have the LS-5000 ED driver software...? I am running Win Vista. Any ideas?

I do not believe Nikon made drivers specifically for Vista, but you can use the solution here to make your own driver "inf" file and install some that will work anyway. Please read this and carefully follow the directions. If you are using 32 bit, use the 32 bit drivers. If 64 bit, then 64 bit drivers, when creating the new inf.

Nikon Coolscan 4000ED

Just curious... did you unplug the unit for a period of time, or did you only power it off? I would definitely unplug it for about ten minutes, then plug it back in.
