I had my daughter pull the rubber eye piece out. I wasn't able to install it, it looks like the camera needs to be separated then the eye piece installed. I was not able to get completely apart. is there a pdf file that shows how to do this? Or at least to separate the half of the camera?
My daughter tore the rubber eye piece off of the eye viewer and lost it. Can I purchase one or is their no fixing it? My camera is the Kodak EasyShare Z712IS and I absolutely love the camera I hope someone can help me find the rubber piece.My daughter tore the rubber eye piece off of the eye viewer and lost it. If you CAREFULLY take all the screws out and the two screws that hold the outer casing onto the flash the bake piece can come off the it is easy to put the rubber piece back on. But you could damage the camera if not careful enough.
I had the sme problem and took it took wolf camera. they would not support it. Soo I used it this way for a year with no problems. The inner LCD craked and and finally bought a new Z712 today for 199.00!

You'll need to measure your eyepiece in "mm". Also determine if your eyepiece has an outer ring the eyepiece will slip over. You can find eyecups/guards on Ebay. Search under Binocular Eyecup or Binocular Eye Guard. There are also eyecups under "rubber eyecups/rubber eyeguards" but alot of these are for Microscopes and may not fit. You will need to pay close attention to the mounting type and measurements.
At the bottom of the eye piece there is a little slider than you can move up and down to adjust the focus. That should fix your problem if not then you are not looking into the eye piece close enough make sure your eye is pressed up against the little rubber pad and then adjust the focus.
you have to take off the back plastic part of the camera carefully. I snapped it off carefully. Then you take off 2 black screws at the eye piece and insert the rubber. screw back together. snap plastic back on and screw in all the screws. have fun!
These are the guys you need to contact if you are in the USA;
http://www.bushnell.com/general/binoculars_legacywp.cfm?section=General%20Use
They make a lot of the binoculars for B+L who make the optics, including the legacy models.
Hope this helps :)
