It sounds like it might be an issue with the VPN client that is attempting to get to your server at the firm. If you are having issues, first contact the firm's IT department. If they still cannot get you connected then you will need to contact you ISP to make sure that they allow VPN connections.

Why Addresses in the IP Address Pool on a Switch Are Exhausted When the Switch Functions as a DHCP Server and It Has a Few Clients?

If the IP address pool has much more resources than needs of clients, the following two reasons may cause address exhaustion:
1. An attacker keeps changing the CHADDR field and sending DHCP Discover packets to exhaust addresses. If so, contact Huawei engineers to deploy DHCP snooping to protect the IP address pool.
2. The DHCP server ping function is enabled on the DHCP server. This function tries to ping the allocated addresses before responding to DHCP Offer packets. If a client responds to any ping packet, the DHCP server considers that there are address conflicts and addresses are exhausted. To solve this problem, two methods are available:
1. Capture packets on the ports connected to the DHCP server. If a client responds to ping packets, prohibit the client.
2. Disable the DHCP server ping function using the undo dhcp server ping packet command.
3. Such as S5700, S6700

I trying to fix a small office network and need some help. I have a netgear ds116 hub that currently has a linksys WAP54G access point connected to it for wireless access. The access point is not encypted...

So have a hub and a wireless access point at office.
Do u have a router in the network at office ?
The default IP address of the WAP54G will be 192.168.1.245.
The Sonic firewall is a different thing.
I think you are accessing the set up interface of the sonic wall with the IP address 192.168.1.1.
Where is the access point connected ?
Is it connected to the sonic firewall ?
The access point does not have the DHCP server.

CIsco ASA 5510 fire wall problem

Hi Thangaraj_j,

Can you provide the topology of your setup? Can you provide also the following:

- running configuration of the ASA
- ip address of the server (what kind of server is this? what tcp/udp port does it use)
- show xlate
- show con
- show log

Just a quick try, have you tried clearing the translation and the arp table?

commands to do it:

clear xlate
clear arp
clear local

Let me know and if it still doesn't work, try to ping the server from the pc clients and see if ping does work. (you need to allow icmp to pass thru in case you are denying it for testing purposes) Just send me the additional information given above.

Cannot connect to SonicWall VPN

My guess is that dhcp is using the same private network scheme. Try changing your home network scheme to something different than your office.
For example:
Office = 192.168.1.x
home = 192.168.2.x
