It sounds like your even-tempered iron is in a bad temper! I can think of no reason that you couldn't pull the plug from the wall socket.
There is no iron of that model name, so I am puzzled by whole thing in your 'Anonymous' post.
Disconnect the power at the breaker. Cut the wire with side cutters and throw the iron in the bin. Remove the wall socket from the wall and replace with a new one and throw that in the bin as well. Buy a new Rowenta next time.

I HAVE THE DIGITAL ADVANTAGE AND IT ALSO GOES OFF AND IT DISPLAYS 8 STAND OFF
The light on the iron keeps turning off and then I get no heat. When I turn it up it heats for a few moments and then shuts off again. I am very disappointed, I thought I could trust the Black and Decker brand.
