What version of explorer do you use? You might try upgrading to IE8 and try again? It sounds like maybe a security issue ...

If it is not a browser issue (ie8, firefox) go into IE and reset all the goodies in Tools and Internet Options and Security --- if not done already, return all to Default Level. Also clear cookies, and browsing history, which may free up room you need elsewhere. I really feel your frustration.

I can't get on facebook or my space, this anti virus thing comes up and wants me to buy it..just happen a few mins ago

Hello :

Here is what to do : Just go to www.microsoft.com and download internet explorer again and install it , then reboot your system . I'm sure that this will solve the problem . any way , why don't you try other internet communication softwares like ( firefox or google chrome) those both are great also . I advice you to have more than one internet communication software . I already have three just in case if one of them is corrupted . I have ( Internet explorer and firefox and google chrome ) . just try the idea and you'll be satisfied with the result .

For the anti virus problem , just buy it or install a free anti virus software like [ Avast home edition ]

If this solution is helpful please click a thumbs-up rating below.

Have a great day,

Atomic Alarm Clock (Program) Crashes Explorer.exe

You may have picked up a virus with this download. Scan your computer with an anti-virus program (AVG has a good free version of it's program). and hope it finds something to eliminate. That's one of the pitfalls of downloading free programs from the internet. Download the AVG program from MajorGeeks.com. I've never been burned with any of their downloads.

Internet Explorer Problem - PLEASE Help!

Hello,
I recommend running an anti-virus and anti-spyware program. In the case this does not work, the next solution is to reinstall Windows XP. This problem is associated with a computer possiblly corrupted with a virus or trojan.
Let me know if you need any suggestion on anti-virus and anti-spyware programs, or any questions about reinstalling Windows XP.
Thanks, Raph30

First down explorer then firefox why is my p.c. killing my browsers?

By "Explorer" I'm assuming you mean Internet Explorer and not Windows Explorer, since you refer to other browsers. This sounds like you have gotten some viruses. Do you have anti-virus software installed? All Windows Defender does is protect against ad-ware and spy-ware or in simple terms, pop-ups. I would suggest you get a good anti-virus program and scan your system! By the way, you don't have to download anything to get viruses from the internet.
