When turned on dial lights up but get no sound from any speaker- how should I proceed? thank you
This model has a audio relay at the speakers output. When you turn the unit on there's a short delay and then the audio output switches on. It happened exactly the same with my unit. The problem is that this relay is not "closing" properly so there´s no audio coming to the speaker rear pannel conectors. You´ll find this relay inside the receiver, exactly behind the power switch. It's a clear rectangular plastic box with coils and contacts inside, make sure these contacts close after turning the unit on. You may need to take away the clear plastic box in order to have access to these contacts. Clean them and the mechanism with proper electronic fluid. Make sure these contacts are moving and the springs are ok. Hope this helps. Regards, Andy.
A little more triage would be in order before you take a knife to it. What source(s) produce the distorted sound? How about test tones? Same? It's sick. Not same? Something else is going on. Have you referred to the manual(s)?

someone i told at a car stereo shop mentioned the audio fuse, or whatever, might be blown. because i mentioned it was hooked up, had power, but no sound was coming from the speakers. not sure how to go about fixing that, but if anyone knows i'd appreciate being told! i dont want to have to return my cd player, i got it for a good price and its PIONEER!
