OK, the A-frame if I am picturing this correctly. You'll need to get a replacement part and then remove the old part and install the new one. I recommend that you get a Haynes repair manual to do this repair as the illustrations will be a great deal of assistance.

I have a 98 xj8 and it has been stood for 4 years so I have just replaced all the brakes and front suspension bushes. On the bottom wish bone there is a dot and a line for setting the position of the bolt...

the datum marks on the eccentric bolt heads are to help reassemble when you have replaced suspension parts to make it easy to set up the camber/castor front wheel tracking you should make a note off the original settings before dismantling use the centre setting ie middle line to dot BUT THE FRONT CAMBER/TRACKINGCASTER SHOULD BE CHECKED ADJUSTED BY A SPECIALIST WITH 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT KIT

2002 Ford Taurus - rattle in front while driving

Hi Donna,

This year and vehicle are notorious for having suspension links fail due to corrosion. Look under the front end, there should be a short rod (sort of dog bone shaped) that connects vertically on each side. If one or both failed, you'll have a thumping or rattling sound. They're not expensive or hard to change. If not this, there could be any number of issues, especially on a 10 year old car. Wear items include ball joints, wheel bearings, struts, etc.

Good luck.

I have a ford f-150 a u-joint broke on the hiway and my drive shaft was damage. when the ford dealer went to order new one it was 1" to long i had to get one made to fit it was 55" and the one in...

Several ideas ... 1" is not much difference.

Is the truck modified in any way?

Are the RWD or 4WD shafts different lengths?

Was the broken shaft an original or an after-market replacement?

Has the engine moved a bit? Engine and transmission mounts?
Have the rear axle or suspension bushes been replaced? i.e. is the rear axle correctly positioned?
Is the diff the original size for your motor or a larger unit?

Did the 56" unit fit properly?

The correct position for the shaft in the transmission yoke is all the way in, then backed off about an 1.25". The exact value will be listed by Ford in the workshop manuals.

If the shaft is too far out of the yoke, you'll get all sorts of vibration and eventually (and quickly) the yoke bearing will fall apart.

How do i release the air in the bags on a 2003 lincoln navigator 2 wheel drive

First thing is why would you want to and then next is make sure the air ride is turned off. At the top of the air springs there a valve you will have to removed the line off of the valve and then remove the valve from the air springs, then you can remove it. Hope this helps

Front left suspension noise when reversing

I think you will find its either your lower wish bone bushes need replacing OR its could be brake pads moving in housing as when going forward its the same way as disc goes but in reverse they slide backwards about 5mm if housing is worn ..
other wise you should be ok BUT
Chesk wishbone movement with all wheels on the ground not jacked up

Movement in the front suspension wish bone or bush

Its your life your playing with so Check out by jacking up front of car put bar between w/bone and X member and pull and push front and read mostly bushes but there are a bugger to fit and must be done the correct way or the steering can be allover the place also the Caster and Camber must be done again plus the Tracking at 1/8"
So for the sake of other road users plus your own life get the people who no to do the job (you check it and find the fault by all meens but that as far as you go unless you want bad nights sleep).
