Hello, Went to record the other day (on Alesis Adat LX120 type 2)and pressed power button and I have no activity at all......no display , no noise, no intermittent flash?? It's always been plugged into a surge protector and my basement has a top of line dehumidifier . Any help would be appeciated!!! Could ya give me some basic test instructions of the power supply? I've done basic resistor changes and such so please give me some advice Its all I got ! I cant afford to have anyone to fix it. I have the pwr supply out and looked and smelled it and no obvious signs of thermal failure so if ya could help me I would genuinely thankful! Mic

If memory serves correct you have rca and outs, 8 each. Using rca to 1/4" cords work the best. Connect each of your cords from the "in" on the alesis to the channel access 1 through 8 I believe to the first click. Run the "outs" from your alesis to channels 9 through 16. Use 9 through 16 as playback and 1 through 8 for instruments. This is one good way of doing it with our limited gear. Good luck!
Either use the legacy drivers for your 1394 interface or do as I did and just download HD24 Tools program until Alesis makes a device that works on modern operating systems! Don't stay up late waiting for Alesis to do that. Ask yourself when the last firmware upgrade for the HD34 was.
Try a new or different OS Use a program called studio Use an USB cable to IDE and power, download hd24tools and recover your rackshttp://ringbreak.dnd.utwente.nl/~mrjb/hd24tools/download.html
Alesis published a patch for the HD24 which involves adding a 2200uF capacitor to the HD24, which solves this problem for some drives that never mounted before. As electrolytic capacitors age, their capacity reduce- which may cause this problem. It may well be you can fix this problem by replacing the existing 2200uF capacitor with a fresh one, keeping the polarity of the capacitor in mind of course.
press F4 to open device panel. there you must be able to select inputs and out puts fromyour alesis interface.
be in stereo or mono(check your alesis specifications to know how many mono and stereo inputs it has.
then when you create a new track on the right side of the sequencer window. you must see a input and uut put routing tab
so if you whant to record voice in one track select the inputs where your mic is plug
create a new track and select the other input
so for shure it will say alesis INPUT 1
alesis INPUT 2
alesis INPUT 3
and so on depending on how many inputs your devices haves.
you say it haves 2. but
are they 2 only in stereo
or two in mono
or one mono+one moni+one mono+mono
for a total of 4 inputs in mono mode and 2 in stereo mode.
i dont know witch device you have so i cant tell.
if you have any questions let me know
