hello

these links below have information (drivers, solutions) for your laptop, that will assist you.. review them , i am sure this will give you background causing BLACK display on your screen.

If there is a problem with the LCD display's back light or a corrupted graphics driver, the display may appear blank but the notebook may be displaying information. Attach an external monitor to test the display. If the image displays on the external monitor, there may be a graphics driver conflict. To resolve this, turn on the computer and press f8 key, then select Enable low-resolution video . If the image displays on the LCD display in low resolution, you can download and install the latest drivers for your specific graphics driver. If there is an image on the external monitor but the notebook display remains black, contact HP for technical assistance.

My monitor, hp w2007, shows for about 20 seconds when turned on then goes blurry then black how do i fix???

The most common problem that causes the screen to go to a black screen is due to bad capacitors in the screen's power supply board. The bad caps are the cylindrical and will appear to have bulging tops. 66c561df-0d01-416a-ae23-71f3b3965c88.jpg

What can I do to fix my hp pavilion tx2000 because it shows a black screen when I turn it on but everything else works fine and it even worked perfect when I connected it to another monitor by vga

You might have either a faulty LCD cable or screen inverter board.
The LCD cable transfers data signal from the motherboard & video card to the LCD screen. It also supplies high voltage DC power to the screen inverter board. The screen inverter board works as a power supply for the backlight lamp mounted inside the LCD screen. It converts low voltage DC power to high voltage AC power needed for the backlight lamp.

When I power on my HP Pavilion a1220n, the HP symbol comes up on the monitor, then it goes to a black screen with a smll blinking cursor for a few seconds, then...NOTHING. The power stays on but the screen...

You could check to see if the memory chips inside have dirty contacts. Happens often, basically you unplug it, remove the side cover, find the memory chips, try to remove them but basically just work them in and out a couple times to clean the contact points, reinstall and it might work. This happened to mine this am, worth a try.

Black screen with cursor.

While in Task Manager goto File and the New Task. At the prompt type Explorer. If the desktop returns then you have explorer file corruption, running SFC /scannow at the New Taks prompt should restore everything. If typing Explorer does not work then you'll need a Windows Repair or possibly Windows reinstall.

Black screen of HP notebook, but external monitor work

i 100% agree with you. i found out that my notebook is one of the recall product from HP. I sent it in for service. A week after the repair, the same problem is back again. So I call HP and they said that I have water damage on the board. I am 100% sure the notebook is no where need any liquid at all time. So they tell me if I want, they can fix it for me for $375. I would highly recommend everyone not to buy HP products!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always have problem with HP products and I think they have the worst customer service of all. Once again, do not buy HP products!!!!
