The most common problem that causes the screen to go to a black screen is due to bad capacitors in the screen's power supply board. The bad caps are the cylindrical and will appear to have bulging tops. my monitor, hp w2007, shows - 66c561df-0d01-416a-ae23-71f3b3965c88.jpg

This HP product contains mercury in the fluorescent lamp
in the display LCD that might
require special handling at
end-of-life:

that means CCFL died, also all do, soon.
(as short as 2 years, full time , they die. 20k hours)
out of your service manual it shows.

My monitor on my HP w2007 turned blurry 2 weeks ago. I ran ZoomBrowser as an administrator to open it. Not sure if I caused the problem or not. As icons and picture on desktop blurry as well as any word...

Check that the data cable of the monitor is properly connected to the back of the monitor and the desktop computer.
If it is properly connected, then most likely a component within your monitor has failed and will have to be replaced. If you have another monitor that you can connect to the computer to compare, you can confirm that the problem is indeed with the monitor and not with the computer itself.

Hp f1903 flat pc monitor goes black after 5

I was given a faulty f1703 by someone as it was out of warranty, had no help from HP and bought another brand replacement.

Same problem everyone else seems to be having. Press the on button, came on for a second or so and then went blank. Press button again, turn on again and the same happened.

I managed through trying time and again after pressing on to quickly press menu, then go down to Factory settings, press select, go down to Yes and press select again. This reset to the Factory settings and it seems to be working okay. Been like this now for about a week. I don't know how long it will last - if it goes again will try re-soldering. Guess I won't be buying HP products as this was a part of a very expensive system.

HP w2007 LCD monitor goes off Monitor going to

Make sure that everything is connected to the monitor properly. Go to the back of it and make sure the VGA or DVI cables are secured and then check the back of the computer to do the same.

Dell E152FP monitor goes black at startup, but not permanently

My bet is that your monitor is on it's way out. If this is true, it will get worse until it gets to a point where it no longer works at all. Connecting the monitor to another computer should confirm my suspicion. The monitor has probably developed a problem with some capacitors inside. The parts are not expensive, but finding a shop to do the work at all may be a challenge. If you're handy with a soldering iron you might want to have a try at it.

HP w2007 monitor will not turn on. When unplugged and re-plugged (power cord) the little blue light in the on-off button flashes once, then nothing. The blue light in the pwer button remains unlit, and...

The only troubleshooting step I can offer here, is unplug it, and press the power button down for about 15-20 seconds, to flush any trickle power remaining in the unit. Then plug it back in, hook it up and try turning it on again. If this solves it, great! If it doesn't though, then I would check either with HP directly or with your place of purchase to see if your issue can be covered under limited/extended warranty. If you are out of warranty though, LCD repairs tend to jump pretty high, and usually end up being more than what the monitor is worth, so it may be more economical to replace it at that stage.

Backlight for display cuts out

Bad capacitors are a plague now, most likely cause of the black screen

simply remove the doomed and caps that have color leaking from the top. and replace with duplicate good caps from your local electronics store

Hp w2007 blank screen

we have here , like 1000s of black screens posted here now.
all the same all with CCFL lamps. that die. same solution.
older monitors have a power saver mode inside it,
push the front button called menu, then see OSD menu
then find and turn off power saver.
if the OSD fails to show up; the CCFL are dead.
this monitor was made in 2007, and 2010 is the starting year
for ending the usage of CCFL (starting on large screens working to small)

im reading your manual for you now, free.
page 4 tells you it has CCFT (T mean Tube, L means lamp)
same same.
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1110533/Hp-W2007.html?page=4#manual

now lets look at the page on saver. power

page 7, (its on by default ) oops !
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1110533/Hp-W2007.html?page=7#manual

turn saver OFF
see next page 8 and turn DDC ON.
see sleep timer and turn that all off.
if you push factory reset, it the problem begins again.
bad. for you.

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1110533/Hp-https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1110533/Hp-W2007.html?page=8#manual

you can in fact download the whole manual.
for free. here. the site on the internet in this regard.

all old HP monitors are made for old PC 2000 year.
your PC is not 17 years old i bet.
so all this old saver stuff is now WRONG.
(all this is old school Energy Star , malarkey, )
